Once he adds that to his game he will fantastic.
His hold up play is improving, he has a first touch, he has awareness.
IF is goalscoring instincts and shooting technique improve we will have quite a player.

I would be tempted to continue with him as the main striker. Certainly buy someone in to help with the burden, but I think he is getting better with every game and this season is one in which the club needs to give the likes of DCL and JJK the chance to make their postions their own.
I think he has deserved a longer run in the team definitely. I'd like to see how he plays when Bolasie is back. As you say, he needs to add that goalscoring instinct to his game, but he has plenty of time. He should have scored easily when he was 1:1 against Swansea when Sigurdsson put him through, and he's nad numerous similar chances so far this season. But he is doing way better than anybody could have expected. His hold up play really is exceptional for somebody with no top league experience.

I'd have no hesitation in keeping Kenny at right back. Maybe he'll end up left back for a run this season if we cannot find a better option in the market and Baines remains on the sidelines.

They were and that is part of his potential. If you played more or less 90 mins per game every game I am sure you would have at least a couple of good touches per game.

We cannot rely on DCL alone at this moment because he is still so raw and it shows just like his couple of decent touches per game. One for the future no doubt but not as a main striker for us. He has been probably our only choice but that doesn't mean he is good enough yet.

He makes more than a few 'decent' touches in a game. His hold-up play is improving all of the time. When a ball is fired into him he'll keep it if he has players around him to help him out. Same as any striker, they can't do it all on their own. Once he has players around him to make other options he looks much better.

You're right. We can't rely on him but he is at least proving his worth as an option going forward. We need a striker but he has impressed in a role he should never have had to take on given our summer spree.

He's done exceptionally well. It feels unfair replacing him with another striker in January but equally it’s unfair that so much has been asked of him at such an early stage in his career already and we need a real replacement for Rom to push on. He’s clearly learning from the likes of Rooney but if we did get (for example) a Giroud who does that big No 9 role so well he’d learn so much more. If we get a striker next month and maybe bring in another in the summer I’d look to loan him out next season and keep him playing week in week out because the lad has a bright future ahead of him.

If we do bring someone new in he won't be replaced straight away; the new striker has to prove he can offer more goals/assists.

..there’s always the prospect of another striker playing alongside DCL. I appreciate its unlikely given our preference to play a no10, but he is the type who a forward that exploits the space behind the back four would enjoy partnering.

actually think him and niasse could build up a good partnership but doubt we will ever be in a position to test that theory, and I don't mean niasse in and him on the right like has been done already

If our goal is to worry the top 6 then that's really not a good partnership at all.
