amusing how, after four years of people whinging that our greatest goal-scorer in at least a decade doesn't run around enough or hold the ball up, we now have a striker who holds the ball up and runs about but rarely scores.

feels like karma.

Our total number of goals hasn't suffered significantly I notice. 1 goal less than we had scored at the same point last year. Weird. Almost as if Lukaku was a FRAUD

Lukaku was good for getting goals against lower teams, usually a 3rd or 4th goal that didn't matter, he's doing much the same at UTD, I want us to have a striker that turns up for the big games, like Ferguson and Cahil did.

Our fans seem to think anyone who puts themselves about is a good striker. If you look around the entire league I would probably swap everyone's strike force for what we've got.
I agree DCL isn't really ideal but he's all we really have at the moment who can hold the ball up, I hate playing that way but that seems to be the way most managers here seem to want to play. Notice most better teams in the league don't play that way, that's why if we continue to play that way in the future we will struggle to win anything, but at the moment anyway will do. Saturday will be a good test.

87 goals in 154 games. Doesn't come across like the stats of a FRAUD.

Edit: just in case:

Niasse has 6 in 9 this season, rooney has the same goals as lukaku has this term, we have scored the same amount of goals as we did without him....................................whats your point?

I don't deny his ability to score goals. But his ability to score goals when it matters, his overall ability and how that impacts the team around him, that's what I can't see. There are a lot of question marks over him when you look beyond his fantasy football performance, he's a bog average footballer with good numbers

That he's clearly not a fraud.
Are you arguing with 4 seasons and 154 games?
He's copping flack but he's still putting them away for the Mancs.
I'm not a fan of him personally at all but to say he's a fraud is disingenuous and comes across bitter.

Calvert Lewin has 3 goals in 13 games but he tries hard.

Been on the receiving end of a few ironic "BUT WE'RE GOING TO SPREAD THE GOALS AROUND AREN'T WE??" shouts. They have mostly stopped since we actually spread the goals around, but some pockets of resistance remain. A single goal in a 1-0 win is far more important to me than a hat-trick in a 6-0 demolition, some people just don't see it the same way
