He's copping flack but he's still putting them away for the Mancs.
I'm not a fan of him personally at all but to say he's a fraud is disingenuous and comes across bitter.

Calvert Lewin has 3 goals in 13 games but he tries hard.

He will always score goals but they will never win the league or CL with him as main striker.

He's brilliant physically, genuinely excellent, but he's painful to watch at times because he offers so little else. Having a proper striker up top will be such a breath of fresh air from next month.

How could he not pass the ball then, he had 4 players to pass to with no one anywhere near them and had 3 Chelsea players stuck on him and decides to try to shoot it through them, we may only get 1 chance like that in a game.

His old up play and work rate is sound, and for how we play in games like today that's all we can ask of him tbf

When we play against smaller teams and play more expansive stuff he tends to get on the score sheet

Except he doesn't. There are 19 other teams in the league and I bet their first choice striker would do a better job than Lewin. We're all giving him praise for working hard and being a nuisance but we need so much more than that.

You need to be comparing like for like. You’ve seen two of those “young strikers” recently playing against us , Solanke and Tammy Abraham . Both are the same age as DCL, both selected ahead of him for the England squad neither made any impression at all when they played against us , both are struggling to make an impression in the PL , understandably it’s a tough gig for a young striker. We are poor in our ability to play passes accurately from midfield and he’s living on scraps and his own knock downs. He’s not the best striker in the PL but he’s far from the worst. Try getting behind him for once and supporting him.

It's the best thing for his development. He has come on leaps and bounds.

The lad is class, don't know what anyone expects when he is isolated 99% of the time.
