Jesus has a 1 in 2 goal ratio at city.
DCL has 1 in 10

A top centre forward will make chances for the team as well as taking his chances
We could had God, Jesus, Mary, Moses and Jesus from city in our side last year and still played like blind footballers chasing a bell in a ball.

DCL has more assists than Jesus so not sure we're you are coning from there.

Irrelevant anyway. He isn't Jesus he's DCL and he plays here not City. If he was as good as Jesus it would probably be the other way around.

He's 21. The question is whether we can develop him so he is good enough to have a long term career here. I dont know the answer to that and neither do you.

Hard to make chances when we don’t venture into the opposition half. And DCL hasn’t really been playing as a centre forward.

The point being, we shouldn’t really be ratings one of our youth that clearly has bags of potential, on this season.

And a lot of that is to do with centre forward occupying the defenders and making space to be exploited by others, its why top class strikers cost a fortune

I’ll take a wild guess that it’ll be no

I doubt he'll be a regular 20 a season player but if can regularly contribute that many goals/assists combined he'd do for me. He cobtributed to 13 last season from 18 starts and 14 sub appearances in a team that created the least number of chances in the league.

For somebody aged 21 they are pretty solid stats for a first full season in the premier league. I expect him to kick on from here.

Rather than reverting to stats to try and find positives I’d rather people watch the displays. He has no presence and doesn’t occupy the defenders because they’re simply not arsed about him.

Disagree with you mate. I haven't seen as much of him as I should have as I haven't been to a game since November. He isn't a top player now but then again I don't expect him to be at 21. But, IMO, he is currently good enough to be in any premier team squad outside of the top 6 and would probably be a regular starter for half of them. But the thing I find hardest to understand amongst all his detractors is this cast iron belief that he will never improve.

I think about 3 teams in the PL would take him, if that. And I’m not saying he won’t improve, I’m saying he’ll never be good enough for where we want to go as a club. Holding on to this belief that our young players will turn into world beaters has always been around this club, and bar 2 in the last 20 years, none of the ability to take the club to the next level

By showing the truth

Ok mert
You're comparing him to Jesus for a start who is a very talented Brazilian.
You're also comparing a City team that creates chances for fun to Everton who don't create anything for the strikers at all and are fed on scraps.

You're holding the bar way too high for DCL.

That wasn't my point (See bolded text). He is also being used as a wide man in 95% of appearances.

I think he's one of our few players who have the physicality to occupy defenders and give them a tough time. If he can improve his finishing/composure then centrally should be where he is used. I do doubt he'll get the nod over Cenk or anyone else we might bring in though.
