Donald Trump for President Thread

Just taking the same tone you took with me about a week ago Pete. What am I wrong about? That I think the average voter either isn't educated enough on the issues and/or are irresponsible with their vote? I think factually that is correct for the average voter. I don't think the average voter takes the time to weed through the garbage put out there (on both sides), and make an informed and responsible choice.

My 'disdain', as you called it though, is towards those running the campaigns based on lies, deceit, and half truths, and 'news' sources such as Fox News who disguise their editorial coverage as news.

I think your view of the 'average voter' is based on a fallacy. Your belief that they do not know or understand what they are being told underestimates the intelligence and experience of people who may not have gone to university but actually have a high degree of common sense and can see through Charlatans and various Smoke & Mirrors merchants without having to 'be told'.... Of course you base your views on what you see in the USA, but within the UK I have quite a decent regard and respect for what our people want......

Your disdain you say is towards the campaigns, lies and deceit, yet I still would rather to have the view of the UK public as many will have different views from myself, yet somehow we always seem to get the right result......

More so now than ever, I am convinced that if The Don ever gets ahead in the polls, some loony sniper will take him out on live TV.

Watched his acceptance of the nomination live. He seemed to promise nearly everything; rebuild the military, defeat ISIS (and quickly), build a wall with Mexico and stop illegal immigration, restore law and order in America's cities, make sure every child has the same chance to succeed, improve wages for women who have children, negotiate new trade deals, restore American manufacturing output, reduce the power of the corporate establishments that lobby the US government, make America work for everyone, huge infrastructure projects, defend the second amendment, make the world respect America again, all whilst cutting taxes. Sure I've missed some too.

I think he promised to make sure Mata signed for us too ;)

I'm looking forward to seeing Trump in debate with Hilary. The mud slinging should be a thing to behold.

My fear however is a unstable person taking things too far.

Just saw the latest poll...practically even...nice
Whoever you support it is wise to not get too wrapped up in the polls until about a month after both conventions.

There is a lot of news hitting (both posivite and negative) for both the parties and it takes a while to see a) what actually counts with voters and b) what is a storm in a teacup vs a longlasting effect.

For example McCain got a huge bounce in the polls after Palin's 2008 convention speech...
