Duncan Ferguson the coach

Utterly shameful this thread.

Duncan is a hero to some, hes my hero for sure, the way he played, the way he gave everything he could, maybe sometimes too much.

Nobody has any idea of his role at the club, nobody knows how much input he has on things, but still people feel the need to have a pop at the fella, shame on you all, geordie clowns.
thats exactly right and im glad you agree

We have to keep Duncan on the staff so he can threaten to beat up any players that step out of line.

Cause that's all he's good for, and judging by certain players this season he's not any good at that.

Maybe every time Kenright goes to sack him he just threatens to beat up another Everton supporter and gets to keep his job.

You cringey rat.

Is this thread real? I'm perplexed. A person who is a living legend for our club, who represents all those values and attitude that I would like to find in every player wearing the blue shirt... I'm lucky to have met him in person and I tell you that you obviously don't know a word about how the man is like.

Leaving charity matters aside, even if his only task at Everton is to send a rocket every time one of this lazy divas that we have need it, for me he is more than welcome here. We are talking about him being a coach, not Everton's manager. I understand people's frustration at our current situation but this is ridiculous.
Details! I met a woman who worked at Finch Farm and she said he and Unsworth were both really lovely. Apparently Duncan's actually a bit of a gentle giant in real life.

Posts like this are so cringe.

Im sure you have complete inside knowledge of the workings of our coaching.

I think you missed my attempt at sarcasm there, i was taking the pee out of people who don't know what he does but think his only role is some kind of tough guy.

but thats the point no one has a clue wtf he is doing and that is in itself an issue.

Well no, when people say we don't know what he does they mean on a detailed day to day basis of every single thing he does.

We do know he's a first team coach and has been part of the coaching team under several different managers so he has to be doing somehting right.

Either that or they're all too scared to sack him in case he headbutts them.

i think kenwright is keeping him ebbrell and jeffers in jobs if im being honest.

Possibly in the reserves and youth teams but managers seem to be pretty keen on only having people on the first team staff of their choosing.

If Martinez, Koeman or Allardyce wanted Ferguson off the first team coaching staff i reckon they'd get their way, most if not all managers would walk if the chairman tried to tell them who to have on their coaching staff.

I still have the Echo from when he left for Newcastle, absolutely broke my heart, especially when he scored two on his debut and the commentator said "Newcastle have a new hero". If he has still got a job after 3 managers, that to me says he can coach.

4 managers technically, Moyes got him back, Martinez, Koeman and now it seems Sam have all kept him around.

I would give multiple organs to have a Striker like Duncan again.

Says to me he can't coach tbh. Or more that he isn't involved in coaching in any serious capacity. Because if he was his position would not be tenable after two failed regimes and he would need to leave for the sake of his own reputation.

So whilst none of us know what really happens on the training pitch, this shows us pretty clearly that Duncan is playing a similar role to the kitman. A new manager doesn't usually give the kitman his marching orders as far as I know, so the Dunc abides.
