Transfer Rumour Dwight McNeil

Yeah was just about to post the same. He isn't as slow as people make him out to be. He can move pretty quickly when running at players with the ball. His style is more methodical. I do think he'd be a perfect fit for Benitez's system and would allow Richarlison to play closer to goal. But I can't imagine Burnley are going to sell him, especially to us, for less than £40-45m. So I don't see it happening.
I agree. I understand that we need more pace and mobility but we also need creative players who can actually beat a man and have some technical ability because bar James, wet don't have any players who can unlock defences.

Think he'll choose us over Villa if we can afford him considering he only lives down the road and can stay around family etc.

Probably knows he'll land more balls onto DCL's ed than Watkins.

I'm a bit confused by so many people saying he's slow. Granted he's not rapid but I'd wager he's quicker than most of our squad, he's skillful and has a great left foot.
However, would you say having the speed of Kilbane is quick enough? People have moaned endlessly as to how slow the players are, yet want this guy…

Burnley did in January

Most probably according to some media outlet, possibly with a wild valuation of 5 million or something?

He’s not prem standard at all. My understanding is that he wasn’t even rated at Celtic. He will do well to make it in the championship imo.

£10m was the deal talked about with Burnley, it was too much for Burnley hence why we loaned him to Celtic. By all accounts they might still be keen so offering him and cash for McNeill would be good for all parties

It would be a great deal for us. I just don’t see JJK being taken on by a prem side. I’d love to be proven wrong, as it would mean a good deal for JJK and Everton.

This is what I don’t get, we bemoan that lot getting money for their donkeys and no marks but when there’s a chance of getting rid of ours we put it down as ‘not up to Prem standard’ and ‘no one would take them’

Comments on a message board don’t effect a player’s value in the market. The RS may get an RS premium, but they aren’t able to sell players that struggle at Celtic to PL clubs.

Time will tell, but I don’t see JJK getting a contract at a premier league club. If he does, I don’t see him succeeding at prem level. This is just based on my opinion of JJK as a football player.

I’d be happy to be proven wrong as it would probably mean a good deal for Everton, and I’d like to see JJK have a good footballing career.
