Said that to my mate last night, it’s odd how Burnley wouldn’t entertain a structured deal for Cornet but were happy to do so for McNeil
There could be someone else willing to pay up front for Cornet. We won't know till later in the window.

I think some people are definitely not understanding this. We didn’t score enough goals last year and now we’ve lost our top scorer. At the moment it looks like the best we’ll manage is to bring someone in who replaces richarlisons goals, when what we really need is to replace them and add more from elsewhere. The squad currently looks even more one dimensional than it has in recent years, which is quite a feat.If he's starting ahead of Gray, we are then banking on him scoring more than 5 goals and 5 assists a season as thats what Gray offers. That's without even replacing Richarlison still.
Would the squad be more balanced? Yes.
Would the squad look better? At this stage no, it would be still be weaker as I wouldn't be banking on Mcneil to start weighing in with 8+ goals which is what's needed.
Rondon isn’t up to standard leading the line or on the counter but he’s not bad at finishing and decent in the air so perhaps could benefit from Dwight’s deliveryHuge risk though isn't it, banking on DCL to stay fit for the whole season. At some point he's going to need a break even if he stays fit and next in line is Rondon and he simply isn't up to standard.
We have to get some kind of quality forward in and sharpish and a DM.
Just having nightmares from the one he scored v usHe didn't score once last year
doesn't wash with me. so without getting into a back and forward conversion on clearly are different options on the standard of our club, are you saying McNeil is a player of the standard we should be looking at for 20m?. Much better players around for that kind of money with better end product.I refer you to four weeks before the end of last season where bookmakers were quoting Burnley at 5/1 to be relegated and us at 9/10...
I rest my case.

Imagine some of the crabs on this forum the day we signed Arteta, Cahill or Pienaar...Nice to see GOT backing the kid like. Great start..
If true can't argue with that. Decent starting fee and hopefully gives us wriggle room to get others in.Apparently the initial fee is £6m, so that’ll be one of the reasons we’ve gone for him and not Cornet
I have a feeling we'll bring another wide player in after McNeil (more of a Richarlison replacement).
With the 5 sub rule we'll realistically need 4 wide players - McNeil, Gordon, Gray + one more.
Townie is out injured still for a while.
Why I would take Gana on loan and allow us to spend money on another wide player who can contribute with the gols.
replacing Richarlison with a player who didn’t score a single goal last season and got just one assist.
Our inability to look beyond the U.K. for players is astounding. There’s surely better players in the other leagues available for the same amount.
