I shouldn’t really ask this question, but......how does one actually go about gauging how much “bad luck” a team has had?

Billy Butler was our man on the mic at Goodison in those days. At the end of the home game, there was a pregnant pause of many seconds, and then I remember him saying quite clearly 'I don't believe it!'

Been a fan since mid-70's, but I can honestly say I don't remember that. Don't doubt it though.

It was the season before you lot did something similar to enable us to win the League. IIRC the real turning point was you losing at home to Wimbledon whilst we were winning away at Arsenal.
