ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Nothing new this lads.
I remember a couple of reds I knew went to a league cup final early 80s and they were saying Wembley or the section they were in was full of wools ,proper ones,Blackpool and beyond, even the chanting never had a scouse twang, and tbf they were fuming.

I wonder how many of them 5832 are sold on.

The money is too good to pass up when they’re playing well, talking thousands of pounds a season.

Each one of them tickets is worth at least £5000 profit a season, and going to the game isn’t part of LFC culture , it hasn’t been for a lot of years.

I would be genuinely surprised if 100 of them tickets were attended by the ticket holder for all 19 games.

Why?

If they are only having fans in the kop, why have a ballot for the whole ground?

So they have 5800 season tickets in the L postcode, in the Kop alone? Out of 21k seems a bit steep.

Imagine the absolute chaos if they did a ballot but only for scousers with season tickets in the kop end lol

Yeah, it does seem odd if they did restrict it to kop ST only. I dunno. Just seemed way too low to me.

I think they will just seat fans in the Kop, but I doubt they could just get away with deciding who could attend based on what part of the ground you sit in.

It does seem abnormally low though, even for their standards.

I think the idea is just to open the Kop for the 1500 who are successful in the ballot no matter what part of the ground their season ticket is for.

Yeah, that dawned on me just now. Does seem crazy low, even so. Like, joking aside, Liverpool are not a johnny come lately decent side are they? I remember being taken to Anfield by a red uncle, Leeds match when Leeds/Liverpool was the big tie, early 70s. And it was packed. Goodison was the same when me Dad took me there.

In them days, only supporters living in and around Liverpool went to matches at Anfield and Goodison, or at least the vast majority were. That support base hasnt evaporated.

I was the same roydo in thinking that was low. If the club copy the RS on how they have gone about it then we should in all reality get an idea of our local support, that's if the RS total is true.

25,647 Everton season tickets with a Liverpool post code, I think we have 30,000 season ticket holders

There number of local season ticket holders is astonishing really
