ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They cycled off. There was even an article predicting their demise before the season started. From the halfway point of 17/18 they had 24 months of unbelievable form concluding with them wrapping up the premier league. From about the March of that season though they went from barely dropping a point for two seasons to suddenly losing to Watford City Arsenal and drawing with us Burnley. They then went into this season never looking like themselves up until approximately 12 months on from when their bad form started and they’ve suddenly gone straight back to title winning form with 8 wins in 10. This 12 month stretch after two years of dominance is suspiciously like the 12 months City had last season before roaring back all of a sudden this season to dominate without even needing a striker. All those players who weren’t very good last year suddenly now the best in the league again.

I reckon Klopp knew the title was in the bag last season so stopped to give the players a year off thinking he could restart and they might still be in the CL and have another chance of winning it.

Mark my words, they’ll be right back next season to massive long winning streaks, barely dropping points, and all these players who have looked awful this season will suddenly all be world class again.

It’s the only thing that makes sense really. They were struggling to put away teams at home and then went on that awful run and suddenly they’ve gone on a run that didn’t seem possible and don’t look tired one bit. TAA is one of their most transformed players on cycle compared to off, you could also see the difference in Salah.

I think it’s due to two things. 1.great coach who gives them belief. 2.the club has a very positive attitude so there isn’t the same fear that exists at other clubs, especially here for instance.

Rhys Williams and Nat Philips in an Everton backline concede for fun.

Moving Fabinho back into midfield also was a factor as he mopped up everything in front of them.

The key moment was the bleedin goalkeeper scoring. That doesn’t go in then Leicester were in the box seat (although they may well have imploded as they did today).

You still won sweet f all this season though. :) Man U in the Ferguson years, Chelsea under Mourinho, Arsenal at their best under Wenger, and the Man City side of the last decade, all of these teams were and in Citys case are way better than the current rs side.

Fair play to them. They have the mentality to go after what they want, like it’s almost a right.

Just a shame a decent team like that is followed by vermin

Last few weeks, like it or not, they have looked really good again.

They will challenge next season. Not even missed VVD the last 10 plus games.

Taa gets away with another red thiago fouling all game and nothing, they dont have to play under normal rules , nothing will change next season man u and liverpool will still get dodgy decisions, it's down to the 14 clubs to impose their punishment on them, I wouldn't kick a ball against them until every camera was removed from the stadium home and away, bleed them dry and punish the money men , the real fans will still get to see football.

But I am a real fan of the team that will be playing against them so why punish me .

Yeah it’s not like we haven’t had our fair share of reds going our way

Can’t remember many other teams maintaining titile winning form for two seasons. Then going on a run where they lost 6 home games in a row for their worst ever record in their history, could barely score at home, had massive problems in every position. To then pick back up and win 8 out of ten unbeaten to the end of the season with the exact same players who couldn’t hit a barn door a few weeks ago.

Chelsea I get, they got a new manager bounce they went on a good run but even then there’s a few losses thrown in and some draws, Leicester the same, United the same. Then there’s Liverpool who are either winning almost every game or can barely win a single game. Very very unusual runs of form that I’ve not seen from any other club.

Not sure whether I buy the doping suspicions, I mean it may help you to run faster and further but I doubt it can transform a player that can't pass or shoot into one that can.
