ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Wasn’t that unbeaten run some sort of home record or something? If they got found out, it took a while for teams to find them. I think they got lucky and scraped in at the end, and I think injuries cost them more than fans but it clearly makes a difference. They’re not the only club though.
I am certain it was a record for them at home going 68 games/45months without losing before that defeat to Burnley-[think it was 62/63 games before that], but i am sure its Chelsea who may hold the longest unbeaten home record

Yep. How anyone can underestimate the impact a positive crowd can have for any team doesn't really understand football and/or has never been the match. Chelsea last season under Dunc, anyone there that day will know how much the crowd played their part. No way we were losing.

I would never underestimate the way fans can motivate players, in any sport. Many individuals need fans to entertain to, the likes of McIlroy has admitted it, Shaun Murphy at the World Championships said it.

However, you cannot ever say 100% that a different result would have happened with fans. In regards to them lot, they were still domestically unbeaten for a good while without fans and has been mentioned, they lost a big game when there were fans.

I love the saying 'no way we were losing' but it is a romantic notion not a factual notion.

In football it can work both ways, as an away team, if you are a confident team then there can easily be a blinkered approach to an away game or the home team, if not confident, can be affected negatively an vice versa (with every permutation in between) . We do not know what would have changed in any game, any team played last season.

Shaun Murphy has fans?

Whats amazing is that City have won the title on top of the league cup this season, they’ve done it without playing strikers with full backs drifting into midfield, they’ve got a champions league final coming up. Yet the biggest news stories are around Liverpool getting 4th, why Nat Phillips is amazing, and Alexander Arnold may not being picked for a England.

Can you imagine the column inches if Liverpool had won three out the last four titles one with over 100 points, they’d won it this season without strikers and with Alexander Arnold roaming into midfield, they’d won 4 league cups in a row and an FA Cup, and they had a CL final coming up. They’d be talked about as the greatest team in history. Instead we’ve had Liverpool players winning player of the year most of the time during this period and their one title win was deemed the start of a dynasty.

The media in this country are a joke when it comes to football.
And I see the concerted and organised media campaign has started to get TAA back in the England squad.
Over the weekend the The Times, Telegraph & Daily Mail had very similar articles blowing smoke up his backside and attempting to put pressure on Southgate to bring him back. Coincidence that all three newspapers ran the virtually same story on the same day? Hmmmm....
Southgate will cave in to the media - he always does. As we all know Arnold is OK going forward but as a full back
he is a car crash waiting to happen in every game. Liverpool have a tight grip over the media and they use it well.

You play for them and you must get capped for England, those are the rules.

It applies everywhere else as well.

Albert Riera was the one who stood out for me. He was called up for Spain literally as soon as he joined them and he made Iwobi look good. Then you had Arteta who was never capped.

Konate is a good signing for me, could be a great signing.

But I did think Kabak would be betterm and thought Gabriel would be like VVD, so what do I know.
