ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I would never underestimate the way fans can motivate players, in any sport. Many individuals need fans to entertain to, the likes of McIlroy has admitted it, Shaun Murphy at the World Championships said it.

However, you cannot ever say 100% that a different result would have happened with fans. In regards to them lot, they were still domestically unbeaten for a good while without fans and has been mentioned, they lost a big game when there were fans.

I love the saying 'no way we were losing' but it is a romantic notion not a factual notion.

In football it can work both ways, as an away team, if you are a confident team then there can easily be a blinkered approach to an away game or the home team, if not confident, can be affected negatively an vice versa (with every permutation in between) . We do not know what would have changed in any game, any team played last season.
Someone told me that City's win at Anfield (4-1) this season was their first league victory there since their new owners took over 12/13 years ago. Most of the times they play there they seem to brick it. Strange how they smashed them this time out without any fans in the stadium. You only have to look at how many away victories there's been in the PL this season to realize the importance of fans when playing at home. That lot across the park just seem to need them more than most. Pity the government can't bring in a localized tier system & have the Anfield area kept in permanent tier 4.

Given the 2 young lads did reasonably well in the last few games surely questions have got to be asked of Klopp. He chose to play Matip until he broke and move his best DM to CB instead of using these 2. They probably aren't good enough but they did enough of a job that they should have played more games and the RS would have probably been competing with United for 2nd. He seemed to want to sulk when VvD got injured and although he ultimately got out of jail it was more the failings of others. He is heralded as a top manager I just think he's lucky
Rick Astley and Kylie like this

Apparently a deal sorted for Konate. According to some sources he has a £40 mill release clause. They also paid 40 mill for Jota last summer plus trading Hoever who was probably valued at around 10 mill.

To put it into context we’ve only paid 40 million pounds in our entire history for two players (apparently) and they are Richarlison and Siggurdson.

Even last summer we only spent around 60 mill on incoming players yet the narrative was that Everton had thrown money at it, whereas Liverpool spent more than that on just Jota and Thiago but apparently ‘didn’t back’ Klopp.

Carlo needs to be given substantial funds to keep up with the top 6 who will easily spend more on one player (Aubemayang, Ndombele, Havertz etc.) than we will in a whole window. If we’re serious about hate crashing the party then we need to start pushing 100 mill every summer to get this squad in shape.

I think a fair FFP rule should be that you can't exceed the wealthiest club's FFP limit. That would make it a level playing field for those with rich owners. Goose everyone else mind you.

Klopp was trying to make a point to the owners by playing midfielders at the back because they weren't giving him money. He ended up screwing himself over. As soon as Fabinho went back into midfield (last 10 games) their form turned.

They'll recoup that £40 million by fleecing Bournemouth again by selling them their deadwood.

They have one more season before they have to start rebuilding but current players will want renewed deals due to their ages and looking at some of these contracts - they will have to sell one or two to start this.

Due to Covid, I don't think many clubs will be bidding £100m+ for many of them.

Players like Shaquri (£100k), Chamberlain (£120k), Keita (£120k) and Origi (£60k) are most likely outs but I can't see clubs matching their wages unless they take a pay-cut plus paying "Bournemouth" rates anytime soon.

If they miss out on Champions League or even knocked out early, they risk a very couple of years.

*Yawn*....
PS: You do appear to be obsseesed with City....
I wonder what else was on the City IT system when the rs had their "perusal" of it?

Also if City is barca-lite (as per the multi-trophy winning coach is a complete fraud thread) and now the rs are city-lite does that make the rs barca--lite-lite and is that the third press of that idea? Perhaps the sons of shankley can raise that at the next board meeting after their vital input on the visiting teams' bus routes via piles of rubble and firework shops.

We need a big summer but will Ancelotti be given the money to do it?

If it depends on sales we could be waiting forever for the money.

Think Liverpool will spend money then pretend they havent spent anything for the 5th season in a row.
