ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

How can you be self sustaining mate when you have £200 milion of commercial deals where up to June 2022 have 14 commercial deals all linked to Mansour and Abu Dhabi royal family, and of those 14 commercial deals owned by your owner and his family, your chairman of your club khaldoon is chairman of the board of 13 of those companies that sponsor your club, your club added 8 of those 14 companies in January and February.

Of your commercial revenues in your last turnover you had £270 odd milion, with the addition of those 8 owner linked companies your commercial revenues will be closer to £350 million in next year's turnover results.

The ones we know of are Puma at £65 milion a year, Nexus tires at £9 milion a year and Etihad deal reported at the CAS trial being £140 milion a year from 2018 onwards, when you told UEFA in 2014 after your first ffp violations was a 10 year contract £400 milion contract at £40 million a year that somehow a airline thats had the biggest losses in aviation history has averaged losing $2 billion per year since 2013 can find money to sponsor a football club at £140 million per year as reported at the CAS trial that two years after inking that Etihad deal that it got doubled to £80 milion and 2018 to £140 milion, amazing a ten year contract at 400 million is actually really closer to 1.2 billion over 10 years, guess that can happen when your owner owns the airline.

When your owners don't sponsor your club with multiple commercial deals that prop up your turnover then you can tell us all what a fantastic self sustaining club you are, but using it willingly when you have 14 companies in your commercial portfolio that are all connected to TWO investment vehicles of the Abu Dhabi investment Authority and Mubadala Investment Fund then it's just laughable AF.

Definition of self-sustaining

Maintaining or able to maintain oneself or itself by independent effort.

God you hate Man City don't you?

I wonder why?

When do we go back to though? Just when Pep arrived, when the owners took over? What about Liverpool’s reckless spending under Hicks and Gillett that was the very definition of unsustainable yet have them assets they’ve benefitted from for years (e.g they didn’t have the money to buy Torres Mascherano but then were able to sell them that allowed them to bring in Suarez Coutinho etc. and so it’s gone on since then)

Maybe we can take it all the way back to the 70s and 80s when Liverpool were smashing record transfers left right and centre.

Or, as with most things relating to that lot, we can pick the one convenient time window that suits their ridiculous financial doping argument. Even though the figures clearly show that whilst City might have the biggest guns, Liverpool are just as bad in with Chelsea and United for trying to buy success.

Nothing annoys Liverpool’s fans more than missing out on trophies apart from missing out on self proclaimed imaginary trophies they’ve been awarded by the media. They’ll have that net spend trophy back soon enough and if they can’t then I’m sure they’ll be the winners of the ‘best football in the league even though it didn’t win the league’ trophy to go with their ‘we deserved to win the CL even though we didn’t trophy’

I stuck this comment up on the red BBC football page about nunez and it got removed........

Another asthmatic?
He'll be flying soon,once he's juiced up....

Another 4 pronged attack destined to fail

But they do win most of their games.
That's what keeps the armchair TV fans happy.
We know how they do that as well.

They are a non-elite elite club.

It amazes me how their record is completely ignored. I suppose it just underlines that the projection of them through the media allows them to be perceived as a big club in terms of silverware success in the last couple of decades....and they really haven't been a dominant force in the English game for well over three decades.

What a mundane piece of analysis that was.

Basically: City outgun Liverpool in fees spent, but the gap is closed a good bit when wages are thrown in.

Who on earth wouldn't have imagined that to be the case?

This Swiss Rambler feller is just a nerd with no insight.

He made a show of himself over that Burnley/Leeds/Everton FFP thread when he threw his toys out the pram after being contradicted and rebuffed with ease by Evertonians.

Think Fulham is away though which makes a difference. I hate newly promoted teams away from home first game, full of confidence and no injuries. Completely different proposition to a newly promoted team playing tourists at Anfield happy to get and expected loss out of the way early.

It's a potential banana skin but still, bit mad how it's happened 4 times in a row. What's the statistical likelihood of that?

I think you’re a painfully sad individual.
