ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

How great is it going to be when this is finally put to bed, I still wish none of this virus was going on and the season was played out, however social media can all be enjoyed from home, we need something to bring the nation together and nothing does that more then Liverpool being done.

Exactly! We need to do things that bring joy to the great majority of people, what better!

Just tuned into SKY sports news, they are sounding increasingly desperate trying to brainwash the country that the current season MUST be completedlol
as each day passes, we seem to getting further away from games restarting again, not closer. I don't really care, my bro in law is holed up in isolation with it, he has lots of ,medical conditions including asthma, so he's petrified of what may happen (he's just mailed me a new copy of his will) and my folks are both in their late 70s with health problems. Restarting the footy season is not happening until people can leave the house without fear of dying.

as you say mate football is the very least of our worries at a time like this. hope your relatives keep safe

Everton could have won the 1986 and 1988 European Cups. They possibly would have been strong favourites. They couldn't even enter because those nutters across the park didn't behave. So I really hope they get nothing from this season. In these desperate times we really need some to cheer us up. Lap those Kopite tears up, Blues!

Too late, they already blew that opportunity.

As soon as footy was suspended they should have come out and said that they don't care about the league title, all that mattered was protecting people and minimising the risk the lives of human beings and rs supporters. It was the right move from a moral and PR point of view, most of the world would have thought it was a noble sentiment that would have been remembered even if the league was voided.

Instead the club and fanbase have laid themselves bare as self entitled and arrogant as they use every medium and anyone with the most tenuous connection to them to spin their tale of how the league needs to go on, they need to be champions, the unfairness of how this is happening to them and how they are the priority. Entirely lacking in compassion and empathy and whatever they do now it will never make up for their actions and words while people fight for their lives.

I've always hated them as a rival football club but I honestly think they are beyond contempt now.

I want all you rs lurkers to remember this in a couple of years when klopp or carragher is preaching about the value of life at the Hillsborough remembrance. It doesn't matter now what they say, you've now seen the actual priority and value they put in human lives. Not as much as getting red ribbons on a shiny cup.

Holocaust of a football club that I wish could be expunged from history.
Nail on head. If they came out and said to pull the plug as lives are at stake and the FA awarded them title anyway I don't think anyone would mind. But they don't work that way.
