Steve Bruce on Hull palyer diving : He's gone down soft there, I'll be having a word with him on Monday

Tony Pulis on Crystal Palace player diving : There were two there that went down to easily, one never got touched, I'll be speaking to him and fining him. We dont like that here.

Brendan Rodgers on Liverpool player Diving : eg A: thats what I call, "A spanish Penalty"
eg B: Daniel is a humble player and he's tried his best to not stamp on Vidic's leg, he should be applauded.

Spot the difference.

Waving imaginary cards is a yellow card offence btw, its in the rule book. To actually then tell the ref "He has to be sent off" makes it all genuinely horrible. a win at all costs mentality is something that would've made Shankly' stomach turn, at least he genuinly had enough of a love for the game to respect all the people who played it, rather than watch it go to the dogs.

Then, theres not many at the RS who have much respct for anything really is there......

those racist supporters would be my most hated club even if i wasn't an evertonian. i have no idea why they have such a big fanbase. regardless of their commercialisation, people from malaysia still follow them and join in with banners mocking the dead, attending concerts etc.

proper cult, not a foootball club. why does a "club" like that nurture cheats so that they can't even stop it even when winning handsomely?

They've played well enough to be in the top four, but they've needed a lot of key refereeing decisions at points to be this close to the top. The figures on the pens dont stack up. Dont take my word for it, take the words of the Liverpool manager trying to defend them yesterday. Three at OT - you're having a laugh. The Chelsea (first) and City sending off at the weekend give me concern. The City one was six of one and half a dozen of the other with Jelavic and Kompany and way too soft; the Willian one for Chelsea was a joke.

There's only been one non-penalty given to them that I've seen this year and it was Sterling's incredible dive against Stoke. That probably won them the match but apart from that, what was there? You sound like they used to when Ferguson was at Man United. You don't understand that when you dominate possession and attack the opposition in the box, you will force mistakes out of them.

...and suarez' dive vs villa?

wasn't the last one saturday given to them yesterday a dive as well?

If you impede the player, it's a foul. I've watched Villa a lot this season and Guzan has an awful habit of charging out recklessly. It's a wonder he doesn't give more penalties away, really.

As for last Saturday, I didn't see it mate. I switched off at 0-2.

their possession stats aren't all that mate

you can charge out recklessly all you like, but if you still don't make contact, it's still a dive and it's still not a pen. if i remember maybe his fingertip touched a shin, that is in no way impeding someone already going down.

they've been clincal as opposed to dominating in the games i've seen them. the scoreline has never told the true story, they got out footballed by stoke ffs. stoke just couldn't deal with their long balls ironically and gifted them all 5 goals if i remember correctly.

southampton controlled the game against them for long periods, just poor defending and clinical finishing that did for them

Probably not, actually. I don't tend to watch their matches but I know they tend to play attacking football. The point still stands - the more you attack the opposition, the more you will force mistakes out of them. It's very basic stuff.

If you're impeded and there's no contact, it is still a foul. Plain and simple. If that was given against us, I would accept it albeit grudgingly.

Is right. Davek - are you seriously suggesting that the PL refs are somehow allegedly collaborating to hand the RS the title? I love conspiracy theories as much as anyone but you are grasping at straws now - Kompany's challenge was a nailed on red (his side won actually after surviving a pen appeal) Villa won deservedly - Ramirez's foul was waiting to happen & was a straight red in anyone's book Perhaps if we got more bodies in the area and started pestering refs we might get more pens....

Indeed. That was one of the few games of theirs I've watched this year. I know a few Liverpool fans and they were banging on about how awesome Rodgers' tactics had been. Nah, lads. You just took your chances and Southampton didn't. Fair enough you took them regardless, but don't go telling me it's some Guardiola move on your part.

they've had more pens than anyone in the history of the prem, either they are the most attacking team in the prem since it started, which considering they've never won it I doubt, or their massive media presence does have some effect on their good fortune, that doesn't make it a conspiricy, but the stats point towards them getting the odd favour

definately one of the more frustrating ones, and they still win 3 nil, i am starting to worry, the rodgers purred about his own tactics after that game was sickening
