ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

More worried about us not repeating our last years exploits for a variety of reasons.really.

with lukaku barry and even delefeou seemingly gone..who do you think will take up their departures and thats before we even start to think about adding to the squad.

I'm fully expecting second season syndrome. A poorish season on the back of signing a load of tosh for the Europa League.

I'm relaxed about them keeping hold of the sewer rat for another season. They have virtually no chance of repeating last years exploits for a variety of reasons and they'll fall short of landing a major trophy with or without him.

This summer or next summer: I can be patient for his departure...especially when they're signing the likes of the two they have in already.

I'm virtually certain that he'll be at Madrid come the close of the window. I'm just hoping that they spin it out until the last knockings and Brent ends up doing a Supermarket sweep of continental kelt as the clock ticks down.

That'd be a brilliant end of last season/beginning of next season - the summer book-ended by humiliation for the Kopites.

Not sure that Real would pay £80 million for him, they could get Falcao for £20 million less than that and he isnt a massive arse.

I'd rather he stayed there as opposed to them getting something like a £70m fee for the odious little [swear word], that sort of money will see Brenda through a couple of transfer windows and takes the pressure of the owners to fund both the team and the stadium development.

Also you just know another brain fart is coming soon, there where little signs he was beginning to crack up last season during the last few weeks pressure games. I'd much rather it was while he was wearing a red shirt obviously but i'd take a meltdown while he's playing against England in the World Cup. All the negative publicity he heaps on them will kind of help to redress the balance a small bit for last seasons mass Liverpool [swear word] off the media did.

I'm guessing you've errased the memories of him running half the length of the pitch against us to score in the anfield derby.

But yes for a big player he has an awful record against the top clubs

when was that? ha

i think the fact i've asked that question implies i have erased it, last season?

It always worries me when they're in Europe though, with their luck they always have a chance of doing well there. If they draw it's virtually a win for them as they'll win the penalty shootout, and if it's a close game they'll spawn deflected goals, long range goals, and goals that don't cross the line out of nowhere.

Over 38 games they'll always get found out.

Yes, they do have a very good European pedigree. Benitez was a better Euro manager than PL manager. I have to say though that Rodgers is a lamb to the slaughter in Europe. This Liverpool team are putrid at the back and you generally get punished severely by any half decent team in Europe over two legs. Maybe he sorts it out in the summer. But then again I think they'll play differently all told as a unit if he does solve the defensive frailties.
