ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Could be wishful thinking that mate

I actually think it would be the other way, in that ref's will be desperate NOT to be seen as biased, because they know the flak they'll get with the cult, so they'll probably be even more indulgent of him
They tried that this season. He's just honked up a massive golly and spat it in their face. Pacifying the rat gets you nowhere. He'll have to try his luck elsewhere next season.

On the contrary, the sponsors are getting more bang for their buck.

The World Cup is now on the front pages and leading the news broadcasts all round the world.

It is win/win for FIFA and it's sponsors.

Bad publicity?

Ain't no such thang :D

It was already, mate, it's the World Cup.

Was it the Citeh game when the ref ignored a blatant dive because the rat was already on a yellow card and if he had pulled him up it would have meant a second yellow ergo a red?

Suarez is the kind of bloke whom regards leniency or an attempt to rationalise his actions as a sign of weakness hence the boundaries are pushed yet further.

I wonder what reaction he'd give to actually getting sent off if he hadn't done anything. someone did a Rodwell to him for example.

I wish I shared your faith in the refereeing staff of the Premier League mate

I think the unspoken pact this season was that Suarez kept his nose clean and the media and authorities gave him his second chance.

The gloves will come off next season. There's no goodwill to be had anywhere in this country for Suarez.

He'd be mad to come back and play here. Liverpool would be mad to want him to now. Spain beckons.

I just don't see it mate. By the time the season kicks off in August, I bet most of this will have blown over. I'm sure FIFA will only ban him for international games, if they ban him at all, and the cycle will repeat itself again.

I've just seen too many moments where I've thought "That's it, he HAS to go this time" and he never does

Having your brand associated with abhorrent behaviour isn't good publicity mate.

Hence the reason 2 of Suarez personal sponsors said they were to review their involvement with him yesterday.

When the RS stood by him during the racism debacle their prime sponsors forced Henry and Co to act decisively.

FIFA is generally regarded as the most openly corrupt sporting organisation in the world.

FIFA officials whored themselves to the Qataris so the World Cup in eight years time will be played in a desert.

Yet sponsors were falling over themselves to have their "brand associated" with the World Cup.

At the end of the day Suarez taking a bite at someone will be a five minute wonder.

He'll be banned, the world will move on and sales of Nike, Coca Cola ego al will be dented not one iota.

And if he escapes a ban, the result will be the same.

At the top level of football, sponsors are like The Hydra.

If one was to drop out, another one would immediately fill the void.

Sad but true.

For every 888Poker to pull out there'll be a Collgate to take their place!

Strange how 888poker are getting on their high horse after they started a partnership with Suarez after he'd bitten two players and been involved in a racism row.
