As an aside, I was thinking about their Sports Psychologist ( RS wise, a Psychiatrist may have been more appropriate) after BirkenheadBlue mentioned him before and I remembered the article above from The Independent last April.
I wonder if hes having second thoughts now about entering the football arena after his p/poor results with the RS and England in Brazil and moreover, after all the hype Rodgers and Gerrard heaped on him when their tails were up before they fell off The Waltzer and lost their candy flosses at the end of the season. I don't think Gerrard will be picking up Peters' book "The Chimp Paradox" with any haste especially in view of his "Im broken" quote after Brazil (which was the new Palace game....which was the new Chelsea game for Gerrard). Typically though, there is amusement galore here though as the article is supposed to be Rodgers on Peters...but of course, like Brent getting his guitar out and taking over the Staff Training session in The Office.... it also ends up featuring Rodgers....on Rodgers. Ego ...or Eejit. Both.

"He realises he's got someone [in me] who knows about psychology and the confidence players require to perform and the mental skills involved, which doesn't happen much in football. Rodgers employs his own psychological strategies. He carves the season up into five-game blocks, for instance, and the West Ham game was the start of a new block. To the question of whether Peters was his most crucial signing, he replied: "No. He's not a magician." And he will not be seeking to increase the psychologist's involvement beyond the one-to-one sessions Peters provides for players who seek him out. "He just works with individuals, there's no change and no need to," Rodgers said. "It's about reinforcing things. [Steve] is a specialist in what he does and a genius in that field. He's also great for me because command can be lonely. You're trying to put in place a structure and environment that's dynamic and forward-thinking, and he's also good for me to bounce ideas off." edited

A Kopite biff on my friend's list screenshot the 'Spurs are interested in John Stones' rumour from one of the tabloids. He then wrote, 'They are linked with Stones, we are linked with Reus. That's the difference.'
Could have targetted this from so many angles, but decided to go this route. I replied, 'Yes, there is a massive difference. One player is an attacking midfielder, and the other is a defender you absolute trumpet. Considering BallSakho and Skrtpants cost use the league last season, Fraudgers could do with signing Stones. Although, he probably doesn't hoof it up the field adequately enough for you long-ball merchants.'
