Great for derbies though I'm sure we'll find someone else to let score tonnes past us. Shame for the other 36 games, he's a liability and no surprise they put in a really good, energetic performance the other night without him, he comes in today and they are back to [Poor language removed] again.

Nope, I don't fancy changing teams thanks mate, I have supported United for nearly 30 years now.

You ever considered changing your team to Tranmere?

Oh and his post was a load of old paranoid nonsense. The kind of "everyone favours them and hates us" rubbish they spout over at RAWK when things aren't going their way.

I honesty thought you were better than that.

No FA action against Rooney.

MARTINEZ: That was a clear red card for an elbow. He's very lucky
FERGUSON: It was nothing. But you lot will want him electrocuted

The 10 dodgiest penalties awarded at Old Trafford - Daily Mail

Like I said the Sky elite Manu, Chelsea, Arsenal and the RS get most of the big decisions going their way.

At least the RS wont have Gerrard dictating the refs decisions. That will cost them points. But it was becoming funnier with every game watching him making a tit of himself in the middle of the park and the resounding groans from the Kopites.

Conspiracy!

Didn't the ref award Hull a free kick against Everton yesterday when it was clearly a penalty?

Discuss.

Yes.

And what does that have to do with the penalties awarded to Manu when they shouldn't have been or the clear penalties denied. There is a pecking order and the Sky lovies Manu, Chelsea, Arsenal and the RS get the most dubious decisions go there way. And when it doesn't there is an apology. Let's see if Jones apologies to Leicester for giving a penalty when it hit Morgan's face. Doubt it.

Because we get decisions going our way when we shouldn't, like Barry should have had two yellows yesterday against Hull and two yellows last season at Goodison against the same team, for instance, doesn't alter the fact that in the league table of dubious decisions the Sky 4 are top.

The officials, and in particular the FIFA refs and liners, are petrified to give a decision against them because they will get marked down and this could affect their standing within the game. And as a consequence could jeopardize their ranking with UEFA and FIFA.

"To resume, we’ve just analyzed what happened to the 4 referees that officiated United’s 4 league losses in the 2010/11 season. 2 of them were not given any more United league games for a full year (Atkinson and Foy), a third for 9 months (Oliver). 2 of those referees gave United penalties in the very next game (Foy and Dowd) they took charge of and one refused to give a blatant one to the opponents (Oliver). Martin Atkinson, was not given Premier League games to officiate for an entire month and assigned to 3 lower league games.

I also looked at Mike Jones after prompting from the comments board. Jones refereed the 1-1 home draw with Newcastle last season and falsely awarded Demba Ba a penalty.

Subsequently, Jones was not given a single football game, at ANY level, to referee for an entire month. The next United game he was handed came a few months later, the 2-0 home win against Stoke which saw… You guessed it: 2 penalties awarded to Manchester United which, according to reports, were “very soft”.

Of course Manu don't get any favours from refs. Just like the RS don't get a leg up or Arsenal or Chelsea. When FIFA official Atkinson awarded Man City a very dubious pen when Milner went over for brushing Jags leg. I thought City have now joined the 'elite'.

Shall we warm to the task even more.

"The people I blame are the ones that are letting this happen. The media who have not uttered a peep or written a single article about this for 2 decades. The FA who run the game in this country and have allowed this situation to fester. The clubs who see no issue with having David Gill, United’s CEO, on the board of the FA. And of course, the PGMOB: the people who regulate officiating in England

The person at the head of the PGMOB and who is in charge of selecting which referee gets handed which game is Mike Riley, an ex professional referee who is most famous for giving a penalty for a clear dive by Wayne Rooney in the 2004 Man United 2-0 win against Arsenal which ended the Gunners 49 game unbeaten streak.

Riley was accused of pro United favouritism throughout his career. For younger readers, he’s my generation’s Howard Webb.

According to the Guardian’s research, which goes to back to the beginning of the 1997-98 season until 2004, “Riley refereed 23 United games in all competitions and gave 12 penalties for United in that time, but only three against them. And he has sent off five of United’s opponents.

At Old Trafford, Riley’s record is weighted even more heavily in favour of United: He gave 10 penalties in the 14 games he officiated to the home side, Manchester United.”

Riley’s bias was so suspect than when was awarded the Everton vs Man UtdFA Cup semi final to officiate in 2009, David Moyes actually called for an investigation on whether Riley was a United supporter.

This is the man who now decides which premier league games to assign to referees".

"Moyes has an uneasy history with Riley after the referee controversially awarded a penalty during Everton's final match of the 2002-03 season, also against Manchester United, which cost the club a place in the Uefa Cup. A spokesman for the FA said the choice of official would stand. "All our referees are fair, unbiased and objective," he said. "Mike Riley is one of our top officials and we are 100% confident he will do a good job on Sunday."

The PGMOB is not regulated but a law unto themselves, and are out to make money. They need their refs and liners get the big games in England, Europe and further afield so as to add more money into their coffers. Any 'bad' publicity will damage their standing within UEFA and FIFA. The weakness of the PGMOB to stand up to the Sky 4 or 5 now, stinks to high heaven and the stench of corruption that surrounds the PGMOB is beyond contempt.

Fortunately for your club, you will always benefit from the big decisions going your way to the detriment of the good of the game in England.

On the subject of poor officiating (discussed at length, above) one can argue that Barry was lucky to stay on the pitch, Everton were lucky not to concede a penalty but the Alcaraz 2nd yellow was an atrocious call. Sadly all this tells us is that the standard of refereeing is poor in the extreme though, if you wanted to make a case out for it, one might argue that we got what we deserved over the 90 minutes with regard to the refereeing but it arrived when it scarcely mattered (game already lost) and, given that was the case, it will get lost in the subscript of the match thereby relieving the referee of further scrutiny. It's not quite the same as evening things up though, rather like giving two poor penalty calls - one that gives Team A a 2-0 lead and the other that allows Team B a consolation goal. Wrong calls are wrong calls - nothing less than unacceptable.
