Naismith is a poacher whose main attribute is to find pockets of space and score goals. He's a striker playing in the most vital position on the pitch IMO and that's CAM. from that position he offers no service to the striker which means £28 million pound sterling was wasted when we could have kept jelavic for that.

He also means Barkley Is shoved out wide where he is ineffective and hampers baines getting forward. Likewise eto'o does to coleman when he's played on the opposite side.

playing Naismith hampers us much more than it helps especially when his purple patch in front of goal has stopped.

But he runs around alot so he's boss Spurs must be gutted they have eriksen in that position and not the Glaswegian Isco

You clearly don't rate Naismith but a lot of us do. The majority of fans in Gwladys Street singing his name in recent games shows he's a real crowd favourite and is rated by most. There's a lot more to him than just 'running around a lot'.

He's also not the reason Barkley is shoved out wide, because there's been plenty of games when Barkley has been played out wide and Naismith hasn't even started or played. Naismith is best in a central role and I'd have him there in that role over Barkley any day of the week.

Barkley is the one who flatters to deceive, even if he has been played out of position most of the time. There have been times when Barkley has been played in the middle and stank the gaff out this season.

Which just shows how Evertonians are clueless for having a go at martinez's 'system' whilst at the same time wanting Naismith to be a regular starter and not seeing how he makes Lukaku, Barkley and Baines ineffective and the team as a whole disjointed.

He shown his worth last season coming off the bench and finding that pocket of space to grab a goal against villa I think it was when they started to sit back.

Barkley is a potential £50 mil+ player whose development is being stunted to shove an ageing "hard worker" type player in the side.

Funny how when Moyes done that with neville he was slated for it...

We're going to have to beg to differ on this, although I find it laughable that you're calling Evertonians clueless when you're the one claiming Barkley is a potential £50million + player.

Seen absolutely ZERO evidence of this from Barkley this season. And there's no way his development is being 'stunted', not be Naismith anyway.

At this point, based on this season, Barkley is more 'Rodwell' than 'Rooney'.

Well we certainly seen enough of it last season judging by the Ross Barkley thread

"WE WUV WU WOSS DONT WE'VE UZ"

The amount of hypocritical evertonians who were all over Ross and Rom last season now slag them both off and advocate Kone and Naismith to play above them ffs.

Funny as in 5 years time Ross and Rom will be playing for your Man Citys, Juventus's, whereas Naismith will be playing for Motherwell and how I will laugh at some of our fans.

I also question how Martinez went from a "give the young lads the freedom to express and play" of last year to stifling them this season for the old guard ie Barry, Naismith and eto'o.

Good example: Barkley gets MOTM against QPR under moyes then is dropped for Osman and Neville.

This season he does it again in matches against Villa and QPR then either dropped or shoved out wide to accomodate the old guard in Barry and Naismith.

Yet only one manager is slated. Funny that.

Like rats leaving a sinking ship.

Could be that as we are constantly reminded... its a result business and you die by your results.....
19 hamstrings in a year
lots of break downs of recent injuries

he is the head of medicine and has to be accountable for injuries ..... or are we unlucky

Barkley has been utter gash for most of this season, yet you're completely letting him off the hook and instead blaming Naismith (??!!) and the manager for his poor form.
