You could have started Robles in midfield last season and we would have won 8 out of 13. We were fantastic All over the park. This season we have no balance or chemistry whatsoever and need to go back to basics. Hence Barkley and
natural wingers is a must not strikers playing in midfield when we cant buy a win.

Can't you just start a Naismith thread and stick all your bizarre hatred of him in there?

It's just bizarre how you're blaming a good player for Barkley's woes.

You don't get more scapegoaty than that.

Yeah because we've had 19 like for like injuries in such a short period of time.

Maybe these inuries are Moyes fault, can we swing that one David
No. EVERYTHING must be Martinez's fault.

Look, let's not pretend that you have an open mind on Martinez, your posting from the very moment he was touted as the new manager when Moyes walked away has been an unremitting attack on the man and his methods. You come to the issue with a closed mind. So let's not have all this stuff about what he's doing wrong now is the source of your agitiation: you've been dead set against him right through the good times as well as this season's downturn.

You're not kidding anyone with this stuff. You dislike the man's football with an intensity. We get it.

The evidence is there mate, Lukaku is getting no service and Naismiths playing in the position that links the midfield to the forward.

We have no width and are penned in/full backs can't get forward- Barkley and eto'o out wide rather than natural wide men.

People are just choosing not to see the problems. Barkley's been average but he's not been played in his natural position. Funny when he was played central he's been fantastic.

No doubt when he improves you won't be banging his drum/pining when city et Al come in with the inevitable bids? Gonna be hilarious the turnaround from some fans when he gets back to his best (providing martinez plays him central which I can't see)

You associate medicine with recovery, not prevention. Would these injuries especially hamstring be due to over working at the fitness regime?? Would it not be the fault of the fitness team??

The reason we are getting these injuries is probably due to a lack of an intense fitness regime. Martinez has made no secret of preferring to do work with the ball than do fitness work off it. The only other team I can think of that probably follows a similar regime is arsenal and they really do suffer a LOT of injuries.

Eto'o is a problem. Naismith isn't a problem.

You were half right in part of your initial post but for some reason keep focusing on Naismith.

So what team, given our injuries, would you play against Hull?

Robles

Coleman Jagielka Stones Baines

Mccarthy Besic

Mcgeady Barkley Mirallas

Lukaku

Play that and we get the 3 points imo. Although I would love to see us go 4-3-3 eventually which I doubt would happen.

Oh David, how you continue to amuse. My view on martinez was a view, but once he took control he gained my full backing.

When he does things right he receives applaud, when he does things wrong he receives criticism; just like any other manager.

What I will not do his arse lick him to death because of one good season, he has made fundamental errors this year, his team is playing like they don't know each other and the excitement level has plummeted to low levels. Watching some games this year have been painful and I've seen, and heard, nothing to take account or responsibility for this. Apparently, after painful displays of the last week or so we are playing close to how he wants (oh how I must laugh).

But back to the thread, your mini rant took us off track a bit. We've had 19 like for like injuries in the space of 18 months, yes we've had injuries in the past but not on this scale.

Is this a coincidence or is there another reason? was there a disagreement between the two? Only time will tell.

Eto'o is the problem, that is something that I agree on. I reckon Samuel has brought his Barca swag in, medals, shirts, that square of grass from the Nou Camp and Roberto has gone all star struck. Eto'o has far too much influence on proceedings at the moment and him elbowing Garbutt out of the way the other night if it wasn't so painful it would have been comical.
