Representatives from those groups were only used to formulate initial proposals to start the process. They are only an interim arrangement. You will be invited to vote for members of an advisory group and ultimately actual fan director(s) who will have full voting rights etc at all board meetings.
If this is going to happen, then GOT need to get involved and make sure the forum gets a voice. I'm newish but I'm sure the old hands could come up with a few names we could all get behind. Better than sitting on the sidelines girning about not being listened to. There are a lot of sensible, intelligent blues on here and a lot of members. Just a thought.

I assume you’re part of it?

Cause I’ve not seen this listed anywhere?

Just feels very selective, and If I know Everton, I know exactly what they’ll be up to.

How will we be invited exactly?

I assume from your tone that you are involved with this self-appointed group of "fan representatives"?

It stinks of a stitch up, they emerge on social media and a meeting with the club is announced the very same day.

@Tom Hughes states all fans will get a say but nobody except him on this forum has heard of them before their Twitter debut and they send a report to the club that the average fan is denied access to.

Stinks.

I'm not directly part of it no, but I am a member of the executive committee of the shareholders association, which is entirely independent of the club, and represented in this group. My understanding is that this is only the initial outline phase to help set up the structures for the fan advisory board with candidate selection criteria based on months of workshops and research and results of various surveys etc. As I said, this is an initial phase and the group is only an interim body to start that process. Several aspects have still to be resolved and ALL fans will have a chance to be involved in the process. This will be followed by a fully transparent election process to try to get the most qualified people to form the strongest possible FAB and ultimately the Fan director(s).

I know you’re saying this now, but do you not think the impact of not saying this is going to throw the credibility of the cause into disrepute before it’s even began?

Why would the ESSG not want to come forward and explain this, instead of just annoying fans, who already feel alienated?

It’s just been handled awful. If I knew the ESSG were going into a meeting with Everton for initial talks, then would explain, I’d feel a lot better.

Instead they went ahead, leaving more questions to answers. If I’m not asking you these questions, then why would my opinion not change from thinking it’s a closed shop?

Just need further convincing. The whole idea is about transparency, and there’s been anything but so far. That’s all.

10,000 people survey.

Surely at least one person, apart from the stadium botherer, off here has had one, or evens knows someone who has, of these mysterious surveys?

Anyone??

I believe one of the surveys mentioned was GOTs own end of season fan survey. Sometimes you just can't see the wood for the trees.

Apparently there was also an ESSG survey circulated by the club about the future of football, with results from this and another independent survey fed into the consultation process too..... perhaps dredging obsessives weren't invited, or you may have even contributed to this process without realising?

If people are contributing to a survey and are not aware of the organisation behind it or the reasons for it, what sort of organisation are we dealing with? Why on earth would a fan group need to be so stealthy in soliciting the opinions of the fans they supposedly represent? And why would they gather these opinions from a club-run endeavour if they are supposedly independent of the club? At best that results in qualitative research riddled with operator bias, at worst it's a sop to the club. Who exactly imbued this group with the authority to speak on our behalf and why are they themselves so opaque in their membership and reluctant to open themselves, and their activities, to scrutiny?

As stated earlier, the whole thing reeks of a stitch up. More smoke for Kenwright to blow up his own arse.

It is clearly stated that you are dealing with a group that is made up entirely of representatives of named independent fan groups and organisations...... not the club, nor any of its employees! I'm not sure how clear that needs to be? The GOT survey is entirely independent (as far as I know) and I can only assume the ESSG survey had to be circulated by the club because they own their season ticket holder contact detail database..... and it was felt that the opinions of this group of fans was most relevant, with the title of the survey clearly stated. However, this is merely an initial phase of a bigger process. A process that was also slightly subject to new national legislation that had to be completed before the initial findings could be progressed and rolled out. I think that only happened recently. However, nothing has been decided or finalised..... just a flexible set of outline proposals to create a framework to help us elect a fan advisory board to support an elected fan director (or directors, with full director voting rights) onto the board. If that election process is not fully transparent or you don't like the candidates that emerge from a selection process, then you and everyone else will be perfectly entitled to nominate your own.
