The point mate, Esk is neither a self important nor self appointed spokesperson for the fans.

What he is, is a highly successful businessman with a passion for the Blues and who writes a lot of extremely well received, yes maybe opinionated, articles on the business/commercial side of the game and how dreadful Everton are at it... and given he sends EVERY article he writes to the board, they have never argued or rubbished any of his conclusions, not even privately with him.

I'll probably get crucified for defending him on here but, people need to read some/all of the stuff he's written objectively and maybe they'll come to accept that the guy knows what he's talking about.
I liked the Esk we used to have some good chats! Shame he left..

I'm sure their hearts are in the right place.
But will the EFC turkeys vote for Christmas.
On the off chance they do, they will, IMO, only deal with the whiter shade of pale vanilla section of what I'm sure is a very broad church of opinions.
Which could well be next to useless as an agency for change

Edit; no doubt in the fullness of time this fan led review might get some traction in Boardrooms...but also fear it will be in the (mimimum) letter of the law rather than a broader spirit of the law

Well, being the biggest Everton fans forum in the world, if you don't know who they are then that instantly questions the credibility of them imo!!

Maybe.

I'd just be surprised if anyone on the board - Kenwright, Barrett-Baxendale or Ingles have the foggiest about this platform.

The clubs comms team will have awareness, but the board? I doubt it. If they seek fan opinion/sentiment I'm sure they'll do it through their own avenues - the official clubs fan forum, their official affiliated groups etc. I've been running this place since February 2007 and never once had any interaction with anyone on Everton's board (nor do I ever expect to - I wouldn't welcome it).

Surely any fans related group would have courted GOT. It’s independent and the largest fan site on t’interweb.

We would be a better club if they did.

Nobody did but all we'd have done is sense check it/ensure it's legit and pointed them to the forum. Maybe raise awareness with an article/social mention.

We're just a platform - we're not an organisation/not our place to be directly involved in anything that looks to speak for fans.

I thought this was worth it's own thread.

I might be late to the party, but today is the first I've heard of ESSG.

It looks like a press release has been circulated;

The ESSG created a Twitter account a couple of hours ago and Tweeted;

Perhaps without surprise, it's raised a few eyebrows;

So, The ESSG.

What do we reckon?

Totally new one on me too

The Esk has absolutely nothing to do with the ESSG.
Esk has absolutely nothing to do with the ESSG
Grow up will ya, Esk is a passionate Blue and has sod all to do with the ESSG
I can assure you that Esk is in no way part on the ESSG !!!!!
100% absolutely no involvement of the Esk !!!

Does anyone know anyone involved with ESSG?
It's not the Esk is it?

*legs it

Does anyone know anyone involved with ESSG?

From the minutes of Everton FC Shareholders Association August 2021.

Everton Stakeholder Steering Group (ESSG)
Paul Murphy reported that he had sent out an email to the Exec Committee providing an update on the ESSG and confirming the names of the other representatives. He also stated that the first meeting was scheduled for 20th August and was primarily to elect the Chair and agree the Terms of Reference.
Much discussion followed and it was the view of the Exec Committee that the proposed draft document should be taken back to all interested parties to review and discuss prior to any formal approval by the ESSG.
Paul agreed to convey the views of this Exec Committee at the meeting he’ll attend on 20th August.

There's nothing else mentioned about it in any other meeting notes available on the website.

The ESSG represents 3000 fans.
That leaves an awful lot of unrepresented fans
Anybody in PR, Marketing, etc might confirm...I got it from a guy in SKY Australia...for every one person that actually phones up to complaign, 19 agree with him but CBAd - although the sentiment is there.
So one day we tried it, there was a big world cup game that could have easily gone out at a more convienent ( for us) time. So a dozen or so of us in the pub rung them up for a whinge - it got changed, coincidence ? Who knows
Not cast Iron proof I know
So don't get fixated on the numbers.
Just sayin like.
