Anyone of a member of one of those groups? What was the content of the workshop / engagement surrounding this subject?

EFCSA (@EFCSA) Tweeted:
The @essg1878 was formed from a wide range of established stakeholders.

As we start the journey towards the creation of the fully fan elected Fan Advisory Board and Fan Directors the @EFCSA expects that the ESSG will change shape to accommodate the views of ALL fans.

Just not the right way to go.

We want change, but it’s not just a small pocket. The vast majority of Everton fans are angry at the direction we’re in, and we wlll want representation, but should be elected by the fans, not a select, closed shop.

Hope it does good, but not happy thag I’m not at least allowed an input.

Where does it say that you won't have a say?

This ESSG stuff just seems a bit off, I've read a limited amount but the fact that barely anyone had a clue who they were before this thread suggests their 'engagement phase' didn't really stretch far and wide to gather your average Everton fans view.

Maybe I'm wrong but it feels like a fairly faceless group and not really representative of the fanbase.

My interpretation is that the ESSG is only an interim body to start the process towards an election process for the advisory group and eventual Fan Director(s). I believe there have been a few surveys regarding the process.

Right there.

I’m not asking to be in a board, but to exclusively invite people from a closed window doesn’t sit well with me.

I’m not a member of these associations, therefore am I really included?

A 'fan' director might work at a football league / non-league level but unless 'all fans' get a say in the decision then it just doesn't work.

It's like the hand picked fans forum, they don't represent my thoughts or the thoughts of many.

I think the only way a fan director can work really is if they are a representative of a 'fans trust' which has a shareholding and fans can become members of the trust. Members of the trust vote on issues and the 'fan director' who's the representative of the trust then actions the result of the vote by the trustees.

Representatives from those groups were only used to formulate initial proposals to start the process. They are only an interim arrangement. You will be invited to vote for members of an advisory group and ultimately actual fan director(s) who will have full voting rights etc at all board meetings.
