Almost everyone boos England though.

I hate booing of National Anthems though and in no way condone it. But those that criticise England fans for booing, but say it's OK for others to boo our anthem are just hypocrites.
Well its kinda like punching down when England do it. Its like some things oppressed people can say but not the other.

Think of yourselves as the straight white male with brown hair of the world

Saying why can't we boo is like saying white lives matter.

It's wild how people will go on and on about how it is a contact sport over some incidents and then the next day come back and defend a dive because of a slight bit of contact when the player diving is one of the best athletes in the world when it comes to balance if he wants to be.

Not directing this at you personally btw, just something I've noticed. But you're speaking to it. That contact isn't enough to knock him over. So is it a contact sport or not? Is brushing against someone a foul every time or no? I think football really should think about deciding on this. Otherwise we're just doomed to more diving and more play acting.
You can be as balanced as you like. However if one player hits your lower body on one side and another hits your upper body on the other side a split second later, youre going down.

I'd suggest that either contact on their own wouldn't be enough to give a penalty. But between the two, they stopped him from advancing with the ball.

Obviously I can't speak for anybody else, but just because I don't support England, doesn't mean I supported Ukraine, or will support Italy. All of these teams have a number of odious, racist fans, just like England (and every other country) does.

I'll watch and enjoy the game, and if England win I'll be happy for the likes of Pickford, DCL (if he even makes the bench) and some of the other young talents, but the idea of Johnson et al trying to take credit or bask in the team's glory will knock me sick. If Italy win I'll be largely indifferent.

But the sooper Ingerlund fans on here claiming anyone not supporting their country is a Marxist, an anti-Semite or a self loathing hipster should give their heads a wobble.
I'm a marxist and support England.

I just think it's really bizarre that there's such a divide.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but why are people bringing Politics into it?

Do i care what Boris is doing when England are playing Denmark? No. Do I care if that William is there? No.

The media are proper pushing the Political ties, bonkers.

Some very extreme views as always.

As I've stated previously, I follow England out of habit rather than any sense of patriotism. I'm certainly not xenophobic, racist, homophobic or a Tory. I'm also well aware that political opportunists will milk any success of the national team and Xenophobic, racist, homophobic idiots will enjoy the success while simultaneously sending racist tweets to Sterling, Rashford etc.

I don't think I'm at all unique in this. And I don't think for one second that fans like me are enabling or empowering the above by cheering England's goals.
In fact, if people like me shy away from supporting the national team, it will become exclusively the preserve of the Bigots and demagogues. A place where jigoism reigns supreme
There's one Tory MP who has stated on social media that he won't follow the England team while they continue to take a knee. Good. Let them stay away. I've no doubt there are plenty more lower profile idiots who have taken exception to too many black players. Good. Let them see that what they consider the last bastion of White England has fallen.

Having said all that, I can understand people who simply can't stand the clear association (media driven but the connection exists unfortunately) of the national team with all the worst aspects of our society.

So let's not simply accuse them of being 'woke', 'edgy', 'hipsters' and 'snowflakes'

I personally find both extremes of the spectrum equally presumptious. And mistaken.

Now. To important questions. Like why a post which should take 5 minutes actually takes 25 when you have an attention seeking cat.
