I’d have fancied Belgium, France and Spain to have beaten England also.

Can't think now who said it, think it was a Tifo podcast, but someone claimed they feared for England more playing against Spain than Italy in a final.

Am I missing something? Thought the Italians looked the best team in the knockout stages.

Note the phrasing “I back the police to hold those responsible accountable”.

Not her holding them accountable; that would mean the Littlejohns of this world might have a pop at her for “criminalising” people based on their social media posting.

I think it's because England play like Everton when they haven't got possession. They go deeper and deeper and then fall to pieces. Spain would've had about 85% possession against a Southgate team.

Not a lot they can do when it’s thousands / tens of thousands of people doing what they were doing. The Met has more cops than anyone else but there are still only 30000 of them, for everything in London.

Definitely. I don’t think anyone is claiming England are the best team in Europe are they. Getting to the final with that squad was a very good achievement IMO. Some glaring weaknesses in the squad regardless of the attacking talent
