Are you saying she was arguing back because it was her job?

I think people are missing the point. She's not just a doctor. She's the team doctor employed by the club and under the command of Mourinho. She's not his equal and there I think lies the problem.

You can disagree with him and you can have the opinion that she was right to go on however she shouldn't have argued back or undermined him publicly in the way she did.

Players when they do something similar often find themselves in the same position of being benched and in extreme cases moved on.
so if it went something like...

"why the [poor language removed] did you go on? you're a [poor language removed]ing idiot"

"its my job, he(the ref) tells me to come on because one of OUR players could be hurt".

Yep, why is it her place to say something like that? She should just know her place.

It's not just what she said during the game.

Mourinho said after the game that while she would be benched for the game against City which is understandable given the significance of the game that she would be back on the bench afterwards.

She then came out and publically thanked a load of facebook posters who were supporting her in her attempts to stand up to Mourinho's bullying.

Ask yourself this question. Why did she do that?

If you really wanted to keep your position you would just keep quiet and let it blow over. She did that because she probably had enough of him and it was her way of saying screw you. As a manager of a football club what position does that leave him in. The relationship is over at that point and she pulled the trigger.

So Mourinho was completely fair in publically admonishing for someone who was subsequently proven to be doing her job, and pissing all over her professionalism.

Carneiro was completely wrong for publically thanking her friends for support on Facebook.

Thank you @Adversus, bit I think the time for you to jog the [Poor language removed] on has arrived.

Because he the boss

You do realise in this country we still have workers rights, and your superiour does not have carte blanche to do as they please to you, especially if they have been proved to be in the wrong, you've embarrased yourself badly here

Aye, I can't pinpoint the exact moment it happened, but he got the megahammer. :(

.

Following your logic, if I ask my lawyer or accountant to do something unlawful or unethical, he should just do it, because he's in my employ and what I say goes.

Standing up to Mourinho was going to cause tension because he is an egoistical asshat, but she was 100% right in defending her prioritization of the patient. Telling a physician they should consider the "tactical situation" over the care of a patient is incredibly offensive and inappropriate.

The problem, ultimately, is owners, players, the national football associations and FIFA have allowed managers to override, question and meddle in medical decisions for far too long.

A public dressing down from a manager is a massive sign of weakness, very surprised at this from Jose.
