Just watched the replay of the incident and the look on Dowd's face after the physio has his hand on his shoulder and is telling him what to do is priceless. Dowd is obviously then stuck between a rock and a hard place; he knows it's probably a red card offence, but now knows he's been caught on camera being told what decision to make by the physio. He probably decides it's not worth the hassle of having claim his mind was already made up before he was told what card to produce and instead choose to go down the line of it being a yellow card offence only.

Their physio has possibly cost them two points today, as with 10 men it'd have been extremely difficult for us. Superb.

I'm sure I've seen Pienaar do this a few times before, I think he likes to stand aside and slightly back so he can run forward as the fk taker runs to try and get beyond the wall and an extra advantage on the block without ref getting onto it (if that makes sense??). Either way it left a gap in the wall which suarez duly slotted through.

Ok. That makes sense as a tactic I suppose, but slotting it through where he should have been makes it look pretty ordinary. I wonder if he'll do it again?

Performance wise...Where do you think it rates compared to all our games this season...I thought it was right up there with 18 shots on goal....Like we were making up for the last few weeks in that department with the clear cut chances...Our play was silky smooth at some points as well...

In NZ just had a couple of afternoon (its 25 degrees ffs) bevvies with some mates. Mostly red noses but good banter had and everyone unanimous on one thing...it was a thrilling game of football.
PS The neutrals actually thought Everton was the better team by some margin

it bodes well going forward. CL places are not won this early in the season (although they can be lost). We saw an evolutionary step forward today. 24 more games to get even better! ...and practice defending set plays ffs!

Just read a few back comments. I am unfamiliar with this RAWK thing that gets quoted. I am deducing it is some blog somewhere...sounds like a thing to avoid. My Liverpool supporting mates (scousers) are all good guys. I guess living 12,000 from ground zero can permit a bit more objectivity and harmony.

Could not believe their physio. Probably the first time ever we've seen a physio enter the pitch and try to advise the ref on what he should be doing. WTF is it with their sense of entitlement.....

Agree mate. Barry was pissed off with something the soft [Poor language removed] said I would love to know what he thought he was doing, the [Poor language removed]

A few observations:

1) For once in recent memory, Everton actually turn up in a derby match. Pienaar, Lukaku (2nd half), Barkley, McCarthy, and Mirallas all had very strong matches.

2) Set piece defense. Absolutely horrid by Everton. We defend just one of those and we win the match. No excuse. None.

3) Should Mirallas have seen red? Yes. He didn't. Just like Suarez last year. Any kopites moaning about it, well, they're just kopites.

4) Miss of the year by Joe Allen.

5) Deulofeu's miss wasn't that much better.

6) Simon Mignolet. Take a bow. Save Liverpool a point.

7) Romelu Lukaku. You gotta stay !!!

Onward and upward.

.

TO BE FAIR, they did that in the first game last year before Suarez took Mirallas out of the game. They were all over them then too. Then they **** themselves in teh second half.

I know it was enforced by injury but what a sub by Martinez. We looked f**king ace when Baines went off, I was bricking it with that midfield but McCarthy and Barkley were exceptional. Great performances from Pienaar and Coleman too. Mirallas and Lukaku quieter but scored... tbh, Lukaku doesn't do much but score. Poor on the ball, overrated in many ways.

Defence superb but set piece organisation horrific. 3 goals from set pieces, ridiculous.

Howard, other than organising his wall, had a good game :D
