You would say. No offence, but both United and Arsenal were bigger clubs than Everton. Maybe not better during that time. But they ere bigger clubs in the 80s

Genuinely can't think of one standard of measurement that would enable this statement to be even vaguely true.

You're either an idiot, not old enough to remember the era or on a wind up.

How many league titles did United and Arsenal win in the eighties mate, how many Everton?

No offence mate.

To be fair, chico, the mere winning of trophies does not in itself make one club "bigger" than another.

Forest won two European Cups in the late 70s but they were never a particularly big club.

But by every conceivable yardstick, Everton were as big, if not bigger, than United or Arsenal back in the pre Sky days.

Untited may have had bigger gates, but that was the only area in which they bettered us.

This is just a spurious argument put forward by an Arsenal fan whom, I would suggest, is very worried that his own team are now on a steady road to decline.

Arsenal at that time were probably on a par in terms of honours won....it's just that the majority of your success at that stage was back in the 1930s.

Let's face it, Arsenal had just been a dull and sterile organisation trading on their 'establishment' credentials until Wenger dragged them kicking and screaming into the modern world.

It's a good yardstick mate but yeah agreed with the other factors.

It's boss being told how things are by these other football fans who probably live nowhere near their clubs or seldom go to games though. I'm gonna start supporting Real Madrid and sign up for a Levante forum next month to tell them how it is.

Just had a glance in the L1 Everton shop. Shirts from virtually every player but Fellaini hanging up there. A sign?
