I think the amount is getting a bit more fair. But let's be honest, Baines means more to Everton than he will to any other team, so there will always be a disconnect between his value for Everton and his value elsewhere.

Seriously this was always gonna happen. It will be everywhere till the window shuts and this is why. The Bale deal is nearly done so they can't report that now, Rooney said he is staying so that's over it, Suarez is going no where. So that leave Baines and Fallaini, they have nothing else to report about.

I'd accept £38 million (£23-24m Fellaini & £14-15m Baines) is not a bad deal, depending on who we have lined up. If its

McCarthy £12m
Another CM (tough tackling, pacy) £10m

That would seriously strengthen the team and squad but if we miss out on some signings and end up with McCarthy, Barry and the "there wasn't much else out there" statement then it would be a disaster. We definitely need to get the players in before we let both go.
