Baines is worth 20 no less and selling him for less would be awful. Glen Johnson was 19mil and Baines is better

Glen Johnson was 3 years younger at the time, and wasn't he £17m?

Anyway, the point is there are more variables to a transfer fee that a player's quality alone.

Rooney was 21 million with add ons to 27 million yet Newcastle offered us 30 million straight cash -? BK told us Rooney would not be sold for 50 million! BK is the big worry over any big deal!

Haha, the Newcastle bid was not real. Just look who Stretford has links with, and you can add the pieces up.

Sickens me how the press will ask Martinez all sorts of questions about Baines and Fellaini and make up crap about them asking to leave yet not one of them has the guts to ask Moyes if he thinks it is right to pursue them given they have been told they are not for sale and given his own preachings to Mark Hughes over the Lescott affair. The press are frightened of MUFC.

I'd accept £38 million (£23-24m Fellaini & £14-15m Baines) is not a bad deal, depending on who we have lined up. If its

Ince £8m
Alderweireld £6m
McCarthy £12m
Another CM (tough tackling, pacy) £10m
Moses loan
Barry loan

That would seriously strengthen the team and squad but if we miss out on some signings and end up with McCarthy, Barry and the "there wasn't much else out there" statement then it would be a disaster. We definitely need to get the players in before we let both go.

I love these posts, Footy manager slangs or not!

Personally I'd love to add Heitinga and jelavic to the outgoings giving us around 45M.

Alderweireld 6M
Another LB 5M
Barry Loan
Mcarthy 10M
Moses 8M
Striker Fund of around 10M or maybe Defoe at 5Mish

Funds left over for jan/add to next season

Reckon selling the pair as a job lot works for the club presumably they can massage the figures saying Felli was sold at near to cost negating the Liege cut giving us an extra million or two - sneaky gets aren't we?

Not sure why we don't sell then a youth player for £20m, Fellaini for £10m and keep Baines!

And who would play at left back?
