Agreed mate, I think we won on Arteta. Got his best years out of him and turned it into an £8 million profit if I recall.

Still think we could have got more. Arsenal had just been tanked by man Utd and were desperate for a signing to replace fabregas. Thought it was BK being rubbish at deals but apparently Moyes puts players' interests before club's.

The whole "holding them back" thing is obnoxious. If Moyes was all about furthering careers and taking some sort of moral high ground, why did he hold Rooney back? Same thing with the Lescott saga; he's created a nice double-standard for himself. Koff Moyes.

Why did he hold England international Osman back by signing him for two years this summer ? Something's not right..

OK.....let me pretend to be be Jong or Freud here.

What Moyes is actually saying is "look.....I was held back for years by Everton.....I should have left years ago....look at me now".

He believes this because the meejah told him so for years.

Every time we limped out the Cup against Reading or Wigan or Liverpool or whomever, he was never haeld to be at fault....it was always that he had taken Everton as "far as he could" on such a "limited budget".

Every few months an article wouild have appeared in the press or there would have been a pjone in on the radio about how "Davey Moyes needs to leave Everton to realise his potential as a manager".

In this delusion he was aided and abetted by his Uncle Bill....who laughed off every setback because "David is such a wonderful manager".

The notion that he himself would have fought tooth and nail to keep Baines and Fellani at EFC will not have occured to him because he has expunged our club from his memory and in his mind he has been at OT all his career and it is his well deserved birthright.

This whole thing is now quite nauseating and I feel fully vindicated in not joining in the adulation going on all around me at the West Ham game.

You just know that in typical Moyes fashion everything will be done at the last minute which will leave us nackered unless we are acting now.

I cant believe that; we're a special club to Moyes. Surely he wouldn't treat us like a piece of **** he's just walked in...that doesn't sound like what an ex-manager of Everton would do.

I guess my logic is that he might be putting some great crosses into the box but the strikers we have aren't necessarily the type to get in front of their markers and prod home. They seem to prefer the ball played to their feet. I suppose you could compare it to Rory Delap putting throw ins into the box, but unless you have someone good in the air to win the headers it's a bit redundant.
Ah I get your point now. To some extent I'd agree. I'd still rather get in some players who can finish the chances he creates ... maybe with the Felli money if one has to be sold.

It's not just the literal impact of losing two great players which worries me; it's the knock-on effect of being such a clear selling club. What happens next year with Mirallas? Coleman? Barkley? How do we sit with a straight face and get them to stay when in the last window we shipped off two of our best players?

Another day, a whole lot of 'meeja talk', no bid from United.

They're clearly leaving it to the last day, so I really hope that for once we just tell them 'no, you've left it too late'.

Sooner or later we've got to draw a line in the sand and take a stand against other clubs trying to bully us like this.

If we do it this time, they'll be shocked... the media will be shocked... maybe the perception that we're pushovers might finally change for once.

They may have bid, we didn't find out about the last one for a few days after.

It all looks to me like a deadline day bid though. If we kept them both and only added Moses would that be a good window?

According to our manager as of 12 hours ago, there was nothing new to report, as in no new bid.
