Martinez has to make the point to Kenwright (hope he will). He is the manager. We can't lose our 2 star players at this stage of the transfer window.

This comment from the Gaurdian answers that question for you.

Despite his stance that Everton do not want to sell Baines or Fellaini, Martínez said the club must be "prepared for anything" before Monday's transfer deadline and made the significant admission that negotiations will be left to Kenwright and United. "I am not aware of it," he said of an improved United bid. "I have told the chairman I don't want to know anything that's going on, I only want to know the final news if there is anything.

"I have had enough of 'he said this, he said that'. This is a really sensitive situation because you're talking of a chairman and previous manager [Moyes] who had a relationship over 11 years. A lot of things have been said in public and I don't want to be part of that. I'm out of it. But I have never had any instruction that anything has changed."

Ok, fair play to Martinez. I really hate Kenwright.

I was hoping that would happen. But Moyes's "I still speak to Kenwright" doesn't fill me with confidence. And Martinez's quotes ring of a man who has been hung out to dry by his chairman.
In all seriousness, could you honestly see, Daniel Levy allowing Moyes to be anywhere near those two after the way he's behaved if he were chairman? In Moyes had pissed him off, a simple statement to the media from kenwright would have sufficed.
I think underneath it all, Kenwright is a bit thick. I could see Moyes/United wrapping him around their finger.

He certainly isn't thick. Just ask anyone who has dealings with him in his day job. He's the toughest negotiator in the theatre business and if you lose his trust he is merciless.Transfering this demeanour to the business of football has always been Bills biggest problem. He can fight dirty if he feels the need. Just ask Gregg.

He still speaks to Moyes on a weekly basis as well, its great, the cynic in me could question did they plan this???

Moyes is the enemy of this football club and to speak to him on a regular basis is really a naive move. Even Moyes offers a fair deal now, I will still say no and ask him to koff.

Quite true, but if Gregg would have won, we would now be playing our football in a stadium on Kings Dock.

We'd have a £25m striker with sweet FA chances created, unfortunately :(
We are making chances currently and will get better at it this season as we adapt to the new system. You are not telling me that a team containing Barkley, Mirallas and Deulofeu won't create chances surely?

Don't point the finger at Martinez, he has nothing to do with it anymore, he has walked away from it. Read his comments in the Gaurdian article, its all in Bill's capable hands now.

He is the Manager and should be ready for any eventuality with our club as it would not come as a complete shock.

Mirallas isn't really a creative player - he's boss, don't get me wrong, but not really in a "creative", lay things on for others sort of way. Barkley and Deulofeu are still relatively unknown quantities at this stage to be fair.

As for making a lot of chances, that's kinda debatable to be honest. We're having a lot of shots, yes, but not that many are "clear cut" goalscoring chances that we really SHOULD be scoring from.

Not saying we don't need a new striker, but we BADLY need some top notch creativity in the middle of the park.

If I was him, and they both got sold I would quit.

Moyes comments the other day that pissed everyone off were along the lines of
"Roberto doesn't know how it works at Everton, I do"

Probably what he was referring too.

The player always gets sold, there has to be a fall guy, it must not be Bill.

Or equally, we would have gone bust , with only memories left. Greggs plan was all about Gregg, nothing else. But thats a different debate !! I'm just saying that there are lots of people around, particularly in show business, who can testify as to how tough it is to deal with BK. On the other hand, a senior exec at One Nation(Palce Manc, Opera House, Empire(?), told me a few years ago that BK had almost single handed saved provinial live theatre in the UK.Bills weakness with regard to football is that he loves it.

and probably in the CL - Lord Granchester was behind Gregg all the way...he cant stand BK hence why he doesnt put a penny in while BK takes the glory.

If thats true about BK still speaking to Moyes every week its a complete disgrace

At least north of £45m for me.
I would say £50m - apparently, Kenwright has said the same according to today's Liverpool Echo: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-fc-transfer-rumour-mill-5816412

McCarthy and Barry to replace Felli.
The same Echo article says that Barry is on £125k a WEEK; that's £6m for the year in wages. Realistically it's not going to happen. And McCarthy for any more than £8m is also a "no thank you".

Sign a new LB to cover Oviedo (who I think willl be great for us).
Prudence dictates that if Baines goes we need a new LB because Oviedo may get injured or suspended.

That maybe leaves £20-25m for a top striker.
HIGUAIN IN.
