Everton confirm rejecting 28M for both Fellaini and baines

Why spend £35m on two players you don't want or need?

You DO need them, they are better than your current options at LB and CM. That's why your manager is after them like a fat kid in a cake shop.

I disagree that Baines is better than Evra. I know you lads love him and he's far and away your best player but Evra is a long time French international that creates and scores goals for us and is a more than adequate defender. Put it this way if Baines is better then it's very marginal and it certainly isn't a priority position, total waste of money IMO.

Being better than Cleverly and Anderson isn't an endorsement either, you are of course correct, Fellaini is an improvement on both of them but that alone shouldn't be a reason to buy him. I'd take him if no one else is available for £20 million. I'm not looking to annoy you here just offering my view. I think we can all see that the deal will go through at somewhere around the £40 million mark and IMO you'd have done well financially at that price though where it leaves your squad is a different argument that is fu*k all to do with me

Not being funny but I'll be disgusted if we pay more then £40 million for these two. Baines we straight up do not need, ridiculous waste of money and Fellaini is about our 14th choice and my personal 34th choice.

Stop being mean and give us them for 35m.

Throw in Rooney, Bobby Charlton and the statue of Alex Ferguson and it's a deal

Being honest with ya mate, Evra is a good left back, Baines is the best attacking left back in footy atm and the only world class player everton have had since Kancheskis (thanks for that one btw), look at the amount of chances he creates each game and translate that into how many assists that would be at utd with you lot having much much better finishers, out of the two of them he will make the bigger impact and im sure of that, felli would add an improvement to your starting XI and give you the added option of lumping him further up near the end of a game like vs chelsea the other night where he can cause havoc and break a teem down.

Im mixed about losing them, Baines would be a hard one as he is like one of us, felli we always knew at some point hed move for 'bigger' things etc

Fellaini in this market is easily worth 25m.

City have just paif 30m for a 1 capped 28 year old Brazilian. Spurs have bought Paulinho for 17M. Fellaini has what both of them don't have, 5 years experience of playing in the EPL, so not nearly as much of a gamble as those 2. I think a fee in the middle of those at around 25m is more than fair, adding his age into it also.

Baines is worth 15-16m all day long. He is at his peak, good for 3-4 seasons and for his free kicks and assists alone is worth that value.

You are a nice lad, just a bit clouded obviously when it comes to other clubs players. :)

£40m for Fellaini? Deal. Get your people to call my people asap.

For £20m you can get Cabaye. If you don't think Fellaini's better than him, fine - but he certainly is. You have a yawning chasm of nothing in CM, and you know it. Fabregas has turned you down, Ozil's turned you down - who else is there, if you don't want to get into a bidding war with Spurs over Eriksen?

Baines is more than a little better than Evra - he's also a little younger, and I thought there was a rumour that Evra wants to return to France? You'll get more for him now than you will next year. You are right though, Baines is more important to our squad than he would be to yours.

Ok does anyone wonder why there is no bidding war for Baines? Why are we not having to battle it out with multiple clubs for his signature?

I'm very aware of not wanting to be too annoying about a player that you clearly love but nobody else rates him as highly as you lads do and I suspect that's because he's a local lad and with all due respect you're a bit short on players that you can worship at the moment.

Evra had one bad season 2011/12 and other than that he's been flawless for us playing at the highest level of competition year in and year out.

You're still wrong.

Baines created 116 chances last season.

Evra created a whopping 24.

Baines is a more potent attacking threat and an equally as good defender.
