don't give a [Poor language removed] what they do. just want everton to do as well as possible. this thread is almost irrelavant because liverpool's games vs Chelsea and City will have a much larger effect on who wins the title

Some people would rather succeed themselves, others buzz of the failure of those around them.
This question is about people seeing success differently ie is another huge leap in disparity between the clubs success?

Complete delusion saying what they do doesn't impact on us just look at the threads that surround them on this site and they've done nothing - YET!

As I said previously I reckon age and location colours your view.

Everton finishing 4th would help Everton more than Liverpool missing out on the title would help Everton. It's that simple.

I think most Blues telling sweet little lies when they say that they're not bothered if Liverpool succeed or not. We've all got Liverpudlian mates, we know we'd never here the end of it. But in the grand scheme of things, Spurs, United, Arsenal and Liverpool will all likely strengthen loads in the summer, which means that this season could well be our best chance to finish 4th for some time. So if someone offered me 4th place now, witht he condition that Liverpool won the league, quite frankly I'd take it in a heartbeat.

4th isn't really succedding though is it.

The title is infinitely, incomparably better. To be satisfied with our lot because we're 4th instead of 5th whilst they lift the legaue shows just how far our ambitions have fallen.

Don't want Liverpool to win the league, but I'd take anything to finish 4th rather than 5th.

As we are highly unlikely to ever be taken over anytime soon, the only way Everton will ever improve is by finishing in the top 4, qualifying for the CL, and getting the CL money that comes with that.

There is simply no debate to be had - either you want Everton to improve, or you'd rather we stagnate if meant LFC not winning the league.

Um...it's our highest finish EVER in the Prem...I think it would be a massive achievement for the club...especially considering this is Boberto's first season in charge. Again...who gives two sh*ts what they do...sure, their fans are already insufferable, but who cares. I want this club to be successful...finishing 4th would be a massive step for us.

No, it shows that the majority of our fans aren't weird and care more about Everton progressing than Liverpool failing.

Why are those actions mutually exclusive? It's all about levels - 4th place for Everton is, for me, on a much lower level than that lot winning the title. But I wouldn't be arsed about them finishing 2nd, or winning the League Cup, or getting to the Champions League semi finals or whatever. But there's certain things that take precedence - pretty much a league title or Champions League win. I'd forego runners-up for Everton in those competitions if it meant that lot won them.
Pretty much how I feel mate. It's the league title, it's the greatest accomplishment in football. Versus 4th place. Which gets you a qualifying round tie.
I'm not saying I'd ever forfeit silverware - but you don't get a trophy for 4th. Yo don't even get automatic Champs league, there's a qualifier between you and the £12m+ that awaits.

I'd hand Gerrard the trophy myself if it meant we finished 4th.

Imagine hearing the Champions League tune at Goodison, imagine going toe to toe with the best in Europe at a night game at Goodison. Absolute scenes.
