We don't get that money from the Champions League unless we were to win the qualifier, the second leg of which isn't until August, and i don't think Martinez would stall getting his targets until then. After that we'd just be buying more players for the sake of it.

I'd rather we spend the amount owed from player sales, £25m or so, but get in top quality players and use any other money to fund top quality wages.

I don't see us needing as many players as some seem to think, to be honest. We are, in my opinion, three top quality permanent signings away from a very good squad.

I think we need a centre half, a striker, and a CM who can create.

Distin is totally not suited to Martinez's playstyle and he's getting on anyway, and i have no faith in Alcaraz to be a reliable backup fitness wise. That leaves us with just Stones and Jags going forward.

The striker is obvious, as is the CM i think.

two strikers? would be a bit risky going in with 1 striker, kone and naismith imo

I can understand people saying they'd rather lose, especially being from Liverpool and the majority of my mates being kopites. But then imagine getting past the qualifying stages and drawing someone like Barcalona or Bayern Munich in the group, it'd be unreal

How about the joy of us getting 4th and them bottling the title. Not been there before (not these players) so could easily choke now they have hit the front, happened before to clubs and will again.
