How about the joy of us getting 4th and them bottling the title. Not been there before (not these players) so could easily choke now they have hit the front, happened before to clubs and will again.
I cannot even believe you ask this question. I am passionate about everton I have been a blue since 1955 I can not ever imagine a case where for whatever convoluted reason based on what may or may not happen to other teams, being happy to lose a game. It's quite conceiveable that our game against Man City, should we win, could both put us in a very strong position for 4th but also Liverpool in a very strong position for the title.
So a question, blues: would you happily lose that game to guarentee Man City the title?
How anyone could want that obnoxious basket case of a club to win the league for the chance of a qualifying tie into that circus is beyond me.
A) we wouldn't be funded for the tie by the gangsters in charge of Everton (just like last time)
B) if we did go through we'd struggle to get past Christmas and then be into the slog of the EL after having tried to peak against the continents very best
C) the cash wont be that great pre KO phase - probably £12/13M if you get through to the group stage and then register a draw and win...which (with wages thrown in) would cover the cost of bringing in one player who could boost this squad.
In normal circumstances, yes it'd be great to qualify. But if the choice was there to reject it and prevent them winning the league it's a no brainer. It's just not the cure all solution to the problems we have. That problem lies in the boardroom - the toxic chamber that no season ending qualification to the CL circus would clear of its poison.
Dave I want to see Everton playing the best teams in Europe and potentially attract a better calibre of player
If you don't why bother supporting this club
I've got to agree. Watching us playing - and hopefully beating - the best in the world is what it's all about.
If we want any chance of progressing as a club, we need this.
Even if you discount all of the clear advantages of getting into the competition, Champions League football makes us a more attractive takeover proposition.

You're completely and utterly wrong (shock) about the money for getting to the group stages. The new deal with BT is double the previous one with Sky and will see the income for qualifying clubs increase accordingly, and I'm fairly sure that the group stage qualification was worth more than £14m anyway.
You're looking at £30m minimum for just competing in the group stages. Mad that you'd give it up to stop Liverpool winning the title.
I want it too. As I said. The only argument agaist that would be to balance whether a go in the Qualifying round of the CL would be more enjoyable than seeing those [Poor language removed] fall on their faces in the title race. For me it's a no brainer.
Just on the CL, however, there's some belief that it'll put us on the way to another level. Financially that's just not true. We'd have to qualify for the next five years or so to see the cash benefits seriously affecting the prospects of this club.
A boardroom change is and always has been the only game changer for us.
I was looking at the present figures. What are the new figures? Even if it was upwards of £20M on qualifying and group game results you'd have to ask yourself: a) would it go to the manager; b ) if it did, what could it possibly mean in terms of boosting our chances in the PL when our elite clubs will be getting three/four times as much for getting into the KO phase...every season?
The CL is not our saviour. A boardroom change is.
