goodison hosted the fa cup final in 1894 but i cant find the date so im going to guess the answer is

erm, i was thinking our first local derby.

Everton at that time had many local derbies, please be more specific:P , not like you to be shy Suits:lol: :lol:
 

we beat liverpool 3-0 at home. Bell J Latta A McInnes T were the scorers

Thats what I call a proper answer, it was the first ever Everton/Liverpool derby, later that year we drew 2 - 2 at Analfield and the [Poor language removed] got relegated having lost in a 'play off' they called them qualifiers those days, 1 - 0 to Bury.

It was estimated that nearly 44,000 watched the game with gate receipts totalling £768

Next question, what is the connection between Jack Taylor (see earlier in the thread) and 80's star Graeme Sharp
 
Both began their careers at the same team before coming to stardom for the Mighty Blues??
