Everton in crisis? - Daily Mail Article

Didn't say his investment hadn't been disastrous but that's largely thanks to O Neill being an incompetent. I don't really get what you are talking about with Greece. Villa aren't in need of bailing out are they? Regardless of the debt Lerner being the Chairman with his assets make them comparatively financially stable compared to say...us?

To address another point. Lerner is creaming 15 million off the top? How do we know this? It sounds like speculation to me.

Sick'im Neiler!

Lerner's assets need to be liquidated to pay off the debt. Thats what they've just done selling their two "best" players.

Is that money going to be spent? No they're not even going to spend a 1/3 of it. The rest is all about them paying back Lerner.

Read that back to yourself. This is Matt Damon we're talking about - the wrongest poster ever to come out of Wrongville.

TBF mate - you said we were going into administration in Feb/March. Also the jury is still out on the annexe no offical confiramtion, or anything in the media bar the KEIOC stuff.

Zee Villa accounts mate!

Agreed.

Have Newcastle been spending money like its out of fashion this summer too? errr....

Sunderland needed players at one point they were down to 15 full time professionals. And they sold £40million worth of players in the last season and a half.

Net spend? Not looked recently but doubt it!

Villa buying Bent was a surprising move. Has he got any resale value? I guess the logic was that his goals would keep them afloat while they sell off the rest of the team. Losing Milner, Barry, Young, Downing, Friedel and Carew (have I missed anyone out?) has got to hurt them. I like the kids that they've got though. They might just get away with it.

I think Sunderland are going to struggle. They're still light on numbers and I don't think they have a solid defensive unit, enough creativity or the goal threat to make a fight of it.

In contrast do you think we'd notice if we sold Jags, Fellaini or Rodwell? Heitinga would slot in to the defence and both midfielders have missed large parts of the last two seasons. One of the benefits of having such a tight squad is that they close ranks quickly and just get on with things. Not that I want us to be selling players off for the sake of it.

We'd certainly miss them if we sold more than one like Villa did.

Rodwell's the obvious candidate to be sold, although it all depends on Fellaini's attitude. The fact Ross Barkley's coming through reduces any panic we would have.

Everton are NOT in anywhere near some financial meltdown.

We simply aren't making the financial progress we should be making. The Annex issue goes against whatever positive PR and goodwill they may of generated with the likes of myself and is going back on promises.

Simply whoever was involved in that organising that project should no longer be an EFC employee now since checking that the club could actually build on the land, should have been ascertained in an initial feasibility study.

Additionally, and there are many who would agree on here, it gradually went backwards in terms of scope breaking promises and plans. Again unacceptable. Simply the scope of it should have been coupled with redevelopment of the park end stand.

This board are against redevelopment - simply because it prevents them using commercial partners to pay for elements of the building for maximum pay off. That much is very clear.

I'll take that bet - that they will only spend a proportion of that income and use the rest to attempt to address their gash finances.

THEY WILL NOT - SPEND ALL OF THAT PLAYER SALE INCOME.

Yes sir. We will, AFTER they use that remaining £20million to not increase debts above £140million this year.

By NOT spending all of it.

Take the bet Goat lid.

Woah MAtt just called Goat out!

Big question is - will he take the bet!

Only an idiot would take that bet after what McTaggart has said in the press today.

But for the record, I seriously couldnt give a flying fcuk about Villa.

I presume someone has this evidence to show me like? Link me up lids.

I don't think Lerner is the Messiah or anything but he has definitely given his managers money in the faith that they will do something worthwhile with it. Again I would ask, how perilous is their situation compared to ours?
