Yesterday the alternatives to playing Digne failed miserably and contributed to us sacrificing 3 valuable points in the fight against relegation.
I take exception to your implication that this situation is purely beneficial.
It is the product of stupidity.

Digne didn't play yesterday because he's about to be sold for something like £25m or £30m. You are fully aware of that.

The manager failing to put Godfrey at LWB does not equate to it being wrong to sell Digne. You are fully aware of that too.

We should be beating Brighton at Goodison regardless of whether Lucas Digne plays at LWB / LB for us or not. Because we've spent half a BILLION on players in the last five years. You are fully aware of that too.

Digne isn't saving us from relegation by himself.

We could shift Holgate, Mina, Gbamin, Gomes and one of Rondon or Tosun this week and we wouldn't miss them. Start there.

Gbamin: We can loan him 'somewhere' endlessly...

Holgate: Sell for a £8-12mil fee

Iwobi: Gone to ACON but i think we could find a buyer for £7.5mil

Allan: £10-15mil from Italy

Mina: £15-20mil

Coleman: Release him

Keane: £10mil from somewhere

Davies: £10mil from somewhere

Gomes: Loan until contract expires

Rondon: Who knows


If Benitez sticks with the 2 centre mids then id say Doucoure for one spot and New Signing/Davies/Gomes for the other...Delph also there until summer.

Because this manager has fallen out with a player , we have been forced to buy a replacement, urgently, and sell Digne for possibly less than his true value , half way through the season.
It remains an example of poor management for me.
You clearly see it differently.
