Would make a fun guess who game. Assume that’s Delph.

yep

Gbamin / Delph / Tosun / Kean / Klasssen / Sandro to name but a few!

I’m sure other clubs have made disastrous signings, but it’s certainly an area we have excelled in over the last few years.

What is this absolute tosh? No one could have predicted his injuries.

Can tell you’re a floppy da from this alone.

Agreed, he was seen as some what of a coup and had rave reviews from Germany. hes another one we completely broke.

Why have we had such bad luck with big money transfers and injuries?! Yes injuries are part of the game but ridiculous how many of our big transfers turn out crocked or arrested.

Bolasie
Tosun
Gbamin
Delph
Sigurdsson

£128m with no resale.

I think it’s maybe time we start to believe in all that voodoo nonsense Moshiri was on about.

Gbamin, would happily see us accept even something stupid like 5m for him. A truly miserable signing, as many here could have predicted at the time. Some no-mark from Germany for 25m. Only Everton could do something mad like that.

Delph, rightfully off at the end of the season, and isn't Sigurdsson out of contract too? Even though the latter clearly won't be seen in L4 again.

If we can offload Davies too, what with Baningame gone now too, that'll be an amazing five-some of awful players off the books.
Nah. Not having that. He was really good at Mainz. I was really excited when we got him. My only worry was if we were going to try and play him in the exact same way that we did with Gana, as they were/are very different.

However, I don't think anyone could have predicted complete body implosion. Still, once Everton has touched you . . .

I can’t believe we’re actually going to sign Sean Longstaff after all. Just an absolutely nothing player to add to the collection of other non-entities we have in midfield.

He's better than just about all our midfielders. If he is our 3rd best midfielder, he's going to be a 1st choice player.

My guess if Rafael will play a 541/532

Yeah that's true but there's a big difference between footy now and 6/7 years ago mate, never mind 15-20. The game's moved on.

the only good teams that play 4231 atm are Bayern, Ajax and Milan. And they play it very well and in very different leagues.
The new darling of GOT, David Moyes, is having the season of his life playing 4231.

Even if he was decent he's not now and 24. The problem with the Gray comparison is Gray was good at Leverkusen in limited minutes. Longstaff is not good right now.

Im not going to polarise the debate, nor arguing that hes immediately the next coming mate, i would put forward that he is a player with potential that could be cultivated, he has ways to go in developing consistency. But watching him i can see why we are interested, i think he has a bit in his locker - if we can unlock it. certainly i think hes an interesting project.
