Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

From the first 11 I think we could sell Allan as well. If we had a good defensive midfielder lined up.

Ya agreed. It's just such an area of weakness that the risk is greater compared to Digne in my mind.
If all the initial replacements have a similar unglamorous, competent, consistent, grafter profile then that's a good start for rebuilding the squad.

Alli in on loan during a World Cup year could be golden. Ideally he'd look towards Mount at Chelsea or even Maddison at Leicester as inspiration towards getting back into Southgate's plans. He undoubtedly has the talent to do it but is the hunger there?
Motivation might be an issue but I also think Pochettino ran him into the ground.

Not sure if he's actually up to it physically anymore despite being only 25 years old

We need to move on 3 of these this window and the other 4 in the summer.

Holgate
Keane
Mina
Davies
Gbamin
Gomes
Allan
Iwobi

Which young players, Gordon, Branthwaite and Dobbin?

I'd like to see us give Onyango a go and hopefully one or two more get a few sub games.

We need to replace a large amount of squad players and the best way is with youth.

Then we can spend more on 3 top signings.

El Ghazi at no loan fee and 50% of wages i can get my head around until end of season.

Longstaff permanently makes no sense. We need to move out all centre midfielders aside from Doucoure/Onyango and reinvest in a top player there and a young backup.

From what I remember (its a while ago now) Alli thrived as the focal point behind Kane...almost like a 'Support Striker'. Just how we use Richarlison.

I think hes a confidence player and can turn a game.

A loan till end of the season I think would be potentially brilliant...

Gives us a chance to have a look at him and see how he fits in. We would need an option to buy.
I meant Patterson and Mykolenko

I think Ali could do well, I never really rated him as a great footballer, just someone who was very dangerous around the box. We don’t play passing football and don’t have loads of possession.

But if we are getting the ball forward quickly and getting crosses into the box. Ali could definitely be good loan especially if he finds a bit of confidence

Yeah these are my thoughts, he will put effort in in my opinion and if we can get him scoring what a player we have

Hola Mr Benitez.

If your such a genius at all this transfer stuff, can you please get rid of all the absolute garbage players your predecessors have left you with, which has resulted in us having our worst season since Mike walker was manager (because it absolutley isn't your fault is it?). It would also really help if you could also stop falling out with our better players and then having to bin them off.

Can you also sign a quality cm or two (and play them in a better system than your current tactical set up) and also sign a CB who understands your bizarre tactical instructions about zonal marking?

Many thanks - Everton fans everywhere.

P.s. please dont sign any more rondons, in fact, please stop selecting rondon in the first team as he makes our eyes bleed.

Rondon may be if some use as an obstacle for the players to run around in training, or to scare the birds away from the finch farm pitches, but he's not an Everton CF.
I guarantee in years to come a video will emerge of Rafael laughing heartily at his time here and what he achieved almost nailed on.

Love the way we get - rightly - ridiculed for buying utter crap and then fans start calling for us to sign Alli.

At the moment our club is not even an environment where previously good players thrive, so how can it be somewhere that rubbish players rediscover their form of years ago?

Alli is crap. We do not have the tools to uncrap him. Big, ginormous swerve.

Could say the same about Gray really

Unbelievable how many fringe/hopeful World Cup players look to be staying at their clubs and getting no game time. I thought we’d be able to get 2-3 quality players who were hoping to play their way on to the plane to Qatar. Am I missing something?
The World Cup isn’t until November, and in the middle of next season, so even if we loaned say an Alli, who would be hoping to go, on loan for the rest of this season, they’d still have another 5 months back at their parent club or elsewhere to impress

I did say on a loan, pal. I had my reasoning for saying that, it was essentially to ensure we're not stuck with him if we, like you say, don't have the tools to make him better. Also, Gray has thrived with us this season. Alli at his peak years ago was better than Gray ever was in the Premier League. Well, that was up until this season of course.

Not really. Gray never hit the heights Alli did, nor was he as abjectly terrible at his lowest.

I honestly don’t imagine Alli’s career recovering at all.
What i mean is Gray had huge potential at Leicester, dropped off and wasn't the best in Germany , he was almost starting to become forgotten. He came to us , in a not so talented squad and has made a huge difference . He's took this chance , and so far has taken it brilliantly and I think (imo) Ali could do the same , there is talent there but the thing with Ali which we don't need is his attitude .
