Thing is, the club definitely has the funds to go and nab Douglas Luiz off Villa and offer him higher wages etc. It's whether we have the FFP leeway at the minute. The fact he's 23 would probably work in our favour though.

He's exactly the type of player we need right now.

Villa could easily offer him more wages to stay, and the other thing is, why would the lad want to leave Villa to play for us?

What's wrong with him? Does someone here know why he is not wanted?:(
Not so much not wanted as not needed. He plays in just about the only position where we are not threadbare. His loan slot is preventing us from borrowing anyone else from a prem club, now that we have signed VDB. It would have been better to have got a central defender or a defensive midfielder than El Ghazi, we have decent wide options.

What absolute nonsense is this? Everton are ridiculed in some quarters and you want us to send a player back that we loaned as we don't need him. Have you thought about this: these are real people and real business contracts. It's not a video game.

Go and read the post mate, I was explaining to a poster, who asked why we couldn't send him back. I neither suggested we could or should do so, so, wind your neck in. As it happens I dont think we ever should have signed him.

The fella we really need now is *checks notes* Anthony Barry.

Didn't have a clue who he was 24 hours ago, but having read about his influence at Chelsea (transforming their set-pieces and defensive woes), it looks like this fella would significantly bolster the quality of the coaching staff:

Brought in by Lampard to Chelsea where he's since earned rave reviews, the Scouser (and former Everton academy prospect) also linked up with Coleman whilst a coach with Republic of Ireland.

Bring a blue home

He’ll have his work cut out. ‘No Michael, you keep your eyes open when the ball comes in, then instead of ducking you jump and head it away, try it again’
