Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

I think we all know we won`t be spending huge amounts in the summer, I`m sure those saying save the money fully expect the club to spunk £100m or more but that simply is not going to happen.... we all know it, plus players signed permanently now will have been here next season reducing the task in the summer.
Have we not learnt by the Mosh years that leathering millions on tosh isn’t the answer.

If you look at Villa over the last decade since they went down, they have built up window by window to get to the point where they are in the champions league and have the pull and income to attract players. They have also sold players for big money to reinvest. Difference with us is that we were selling players to keep the lights on due to the range of payday loans we had on the go with extortionate interest.

That’s a thing of the past now hopefully and the start of the recovery which will take time with the added income from the new stadium.

You can build a team without spending big bucks, Brighton get touted loads for this, it’s about quality over quantity and why I think the fact we have a recent run of results has allowed the club to look at the bigger picture than panic just to get numbers in.

Open question,

Of all the PL clubs who bought players for money, realistically, who would you of liked us to sign that non objectively would be a really good signing?
I can only think of Esse at Palace

This happens every single window....moan moan moan some do about so called missed players.

How many of those Jan window players we have missed out on or had real links with, have actually done well ?? I can't remmebr any, they have all done rubbish.

And bedded in.

The whole situation still feels like short termism is in charge.

It doesn't feel like any permanent roots are being planted either on the ownership or management side of the club.
You’re currently the biggest cheerleader for this Dave, wanting the owners to lash cash around like the first week of City under the oilers.

I’d sooner spend 0 pounds on no players than whatever money we have on panic signings or overpriced players in the Jan window. Clearly, the sham that is PSR is also hanging heavy over the club still, and why wouldn’t it - I’m certain if we make the smallest misstep, we will get hammered again, unlike the scabs who seem to be able to do what they want (except maybe United, who must really be in the brown stuff judging by their window.)

Also feels like TFG have decided that thelwell ain’t for them and so he will be on his way at the end of the season. They need to have all the pieces in place and ready so we can go on the first day on the summer window, as that’s gonna be quite the rebuild.

We’re taking a bit of a risk now, so hopefully injuries are done in the main ans we don’t get too many more bad ones. I trust Moyes to pick up enough points to see us safe, couldn’t say that about the previous custodian.

Moyes will also have to use some of the youth players at some point, so we may see sherif getting mins, especially if we’re chasing a game - it won’t be Ashley Young coming in every match.
🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔
This window was a little disappointing imo, but we also need to be realistic and pragmatic - it’s going to be a pivotal summer for the club and the new owners.

Very few of them (if any) have squads as depleted as ours though. Needing 2 or 3 BEFORE losing 3 key payers...

Just been looking at it mate - Dan Neil looks a player at Sunderland, year left on his contract to.
I know its easy to say after they had a game of terrestrial TV yesterday, which they both did really well in.

But Neil & Hackney at Boro both look like 'Everton players'

I nkow alot of people rate Bellingham & Rigg, but i'd imagine they would warrant bigger suitors/fees

Both Bournemouth and Brighton signed 2 really promising players for the future on deadline day. Esse at Palace and as a bit of a wildcard I liked Forest picking up Ndala.

Even then Esse was always likely to stay in London, Kroupis fee is likely decreased thanks to Foley owning both clubs and Tzimas would've picked Brighton over us. And we had no loan spot for Ndala.

i think you should not follow everton for a while mate

I suppose it is what it is with this transfer window. We have players coming back from injury bit by bit so the squad will be stronger. Defensively we have cover at full backs and CBs with O'Brien given a run of games. Midfield players to come back and this new addition. Up front Beto and Chermiti to come back soon with Broja and DCL to return. I think this will be sufficient to keep us up. Then in the summer rejuvenate the squad in the summer.
