Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

In his last press conference David Moyes basically told us what was going to happen, but people chose to ignore him, myself included.

He warned that PSR was still an issue, that we had very limited headroom and that in the summer things would be different.

I think the last three wins has also removed the absolute need to get in more players as the current squad have shown they can get results from difficult games.

I think David Moyes will want to keep Broja next season, Lindstrom and probably Alcaraz as well.
Armstrong will probably be back in the squad.

I think DCL and Keane will leave , Young and Coleman will finish as players.

We have to build a new squad for next season , we have to try to get Branthwaite to extend his contract, we have to see what Beto is like given a run of games.

I think if KT is to be sacked it will happen shortly or not at all.
out of contract in June anyway???
If he is not going to be involved for the future planning then get his replacement in immediately and let him start planning for the summer now.

However, I would not be surprised at all to see KT sign a contract extension.
true.
I sort of hope he does just to watch the fume on here.

Have we not learnt by the Mosh years that leathering millions on tosh isn’t the answer.

If you look at Villa over the last decade since they went down, they have built up window by window to get to the point where they are in the champions league and have the pull and income to attract players. They have also sold players for big money to reinvest. Difference with us is that we were selling players to keep the lights on due to the range of payday loans we had on the go with extortionate interest.

That’s a thing of the past now hopefully and the start of the recovery which will take time with the added income from the new stadium.

You can build a team without spending big bucks, Brighton get touted loads for this, it’s about quality over quantity and why I think the fact we have a recent run of results has allowed the club to look at the bigger picture than panic just to get numbers in.
Don`t think I`m saying lashing 10s of millions on one player, we could potentially need 10 players in the summer just to have a squad with all the loans and out of contract players as it stands....

You can build a team without spending big bucks but we haven`t got any real quality in the forward areas other than NDaiye and we`ve never shown we can operate like that under this DoF.

Both Bournemouth and Brighton signed 2 really promising players for the future on deadline day. Esse at Palace and as a bit of a wildcard I liked Forest picking up Ndala.

Even then Esse was always likely to stay in London, Kroupis fee is likely decreased thanks to Foley owning both clubs and Tzimas would've picked Brighton over us. And we had no loan spot for Ndala.
And loaned them straight back out.
Are we in the position with PSR to buy players just to loan them out?

Again that Ndala, I'm sure he's a great prospect, but he hasn't played a single first team game yet? Would any of these made sense for us to do?

i think you should not follow everton for a while mate
Can`t wait till everyone is bemoaning the lack of an actual striker in the next few match threads... I think there might be quite a few hypocrites that say this was a good window and will moan about lack of strikers in the match threads.

Lets see shall we?

In fairness to the DoF, we forget that we were being rinsed by the parasites like Rights & Media which to be honest I’m surprised there wasn’t some sort of criminal investigation into their dealings with the club. If the PL want to promote sustainable finances then these things shouldn’t be allowed in the game. That’s why we’ve seen very little player investment and we got lucky with NDaye and one or two others.

The test will be this summer, how aligned Moyes the DoF and the owners are and what approach is taken. But we will find that out later, the priority in the here and now is safety.

So basically so you can say told you so you want Beto to suck in the cup game and the derby and presumably will be bouncing around with joy so you can come on here and say 'told you so' if we lose.

Proper blue you lad.

Apparently we had enough headroom for 30 million of spending we just never pulled the trigger as no one we liked came availible.

If it was availible, there's no reason not to do it. It would be akin to saying there's no point signing Branthwaite because Ancelotti is here to win now. It's always better to have high rated players in than not, regardless of if they'd make an immediate impact. They may not make an impact but its not like its one or the other, we didn't sign anyone else to say we chose them over a young player.

I'm not even bothered that we didn't sign anyone because Moyes will keep us up regardless, I was just playing along with your open question. I think 3 of those 4 will go on to do really well and if it were up to me I'd have been in on them.
