Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Excellent post. The jury is out on the texans. Personally just my opinion but that transfer window was negligent. An injury to Beto and were struggling. Used to make me laugh with the likes of Barrett Bacendale, the hundreds of hangers on at Finchy and the joke of a scouting system.
Assuming we get through this season then they need to put their money where their mouth is in the summer.

You’re currently the biggest cheerleader for this Dave, wanting the owners to lash cash around like the first week of City under the oilers.

Nope.

I'm looking for stability.

If you feel stable with what has all the hallmarks of a manager hired to be here until the summer and owners who dont even acknowledge they own the club and haven't visited the place yet, then that's fine.

I dont.

I think it's becoming VERY noticeable to Everton supporters that there's no hands on governance of this football club and it's beginning to grate...especially when a window has just gone with almost zero additions to a squad that's screaming out for them.

We handing out 2.5 year contracts for managers we only want for .5 of a year.. I hope we get points deduction for just being pure stupid.

There is no 2.5 year contract.

That's for the birds.

Everything Moyes has done (appointment of assistants who weren't bought out of other clubs / zero purchase of players) and said ("let's get to the summer" etc) tells me this is a short term contract for him.

Should have nabbed a couple of 28m Tosuns at 10.59pm then job done...big spend and all is well.
A shrewd window maybe Dave with one class and proper signing hopefully?

Would have been nice to get Fellows in as a younger upgrade to Harrison so hopefully that’s one for summer.

We are definitely losing Coleman, Young and Keane in summer, probably Patterson too unless he improves, so going to be looking for a lot of new faces at the back. Once Young goes that leaves Mykolenko as the only LB too.

Under the assumption we make both Lindstrom and Alcaraz perms at a cost of about 35m. We need to fill pretty much 10 spits to have a 25 man roster (assuming Gueye remains and we'd e zero sales).

2 keepers - basically little cost and will likely be an academy lad stroking up knowing Moyes
Starting right and left backs, fourth centre back 4th CB likely a relatively low cost prospect or veteran cover.
Right winger backup amsterting attacking mid, starting CM and backup CM, starting striker.

10 positions, 3 of which won't cost much - two keepers, fourth CB.

So 7 players after that including any loans - we loan a couple in with options say one of the fullbacks and a centre mid then we realistically need around 5 major buys during the summer (number ten, RW, fb, cm and striker).

It's doable without costing the earth, looking at around 120-140m investment though still which is a bit more than they did at Roma but not massively so.

Ofc if we bin of Patterson and Kian out Chermiti then you are instantly adding an extra two needed - depends if we believe they are good enough to contribute etc

Let’s see where we are in September Dave, if there’s no change then I’ll be with you but right now the next 12 weeks is about survival and the bigger picture.

No amount of incoherent rants on here is going to change the fact that we are significantly more stable than we were in December with Mosh and Dyche in charge whilst we were haemorrhaging millions to parasitical groups like R&M.

Yeah, they’ve spent all that money and then abandoned us. Of course.
