Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

I'm not sure you know anything about our current situation, if its so so easy to spend and win.

Spend on good players....wow, what an idea that is. If only Moshiri knew that, we would be champions of the WOOORLD now.

We did sign good players!

That Pickford feller, the one that has kept us in the Premier League for the last three years, he cost 30 million for a young goal keeper. We didn’t pick him up for 7-15 million.

Richarlison - worth the money, made a profit.

Onana - over 30m, made a profit.

Sigurdsson - a genuine top half player that scored and created goals. We’d have got some money back for him as well, or we wouldn’t have been quite as crap, without the arrest that didn’t even lead to a charge.

Iwobi - Not the best example, but someone that scored enough goals and assists for Fulham to come in and spend over 20m on him, and they consider it 20m well spent.

Most of our crap buys have been spending circa 20m on the likes of Klaassen, Bolasie, and Gbamin.

One thing is for sure, a continuation of the penny pinching will lead to a continuation of going nowhere but down.

Don't be daft BD . Tierney likes to get forward from full back , Dyche won't want that. "Bench for you lad unless you are Premier League fit"
This is exactly right. We don’t need to be signing players that have a track record of injuries. It is very unfortunate that Tierney has suffered in the way he has as he is undoubtedly a talented footballer but we are supposed to be moving forward, this is not the sort of chance we should be taking given our limited ability to bring in players. Besides, even if he could get himself fit for a sustained run of games Dyche wouldn’t pick him as his style is completely alien to that of Dyche.
If things pan out the way they are looking and TFG are for keeping Sean Dyche in place for a remainder of the season then we need a full back. I wouldn’t waste any more money on the team under Dyche, aim for one place above the bottom three and have a reset during the summer.

No smoke without fire, its also his 21st today ;)
YES!!!

Foot Africa klaxon!!!

Yep, you have no idea about what is going on right now.

You need to get your head out of the clouds.

Jeez pal , I'm not so sure you have a good case if Sigurdssson and Iwobi are 2 planks of your argument.

I know what’s been going on for the last three years… the penny pinching. And I know where it’s sent us for the past three years… jeopardising our premier league status. And I know exactly where the penny pinching will take us if it continues… down!

How much longer do you think we can sustain the penny pinching for?

Is this lad any good?

Are you serious ???

We are in the mess because of OVER-SPENDING, mainly on crap.

By your logic, if we had spend £40 million on Beto instead of £20 million - It would make him better.

You have a crazy miss-reading of the club and its issues, way off.

There are/were no pennies to pinch.

No. Buying Beto has come from shopping at Netto with a Provident credit card, because of the penny pinching.

It is the budgeting of the last three years that has seen us regress into what we are today, and it will only get worse if it continues.

You don’t survive the PL with a Netto budget.

There are/were no pennies to pinch.

That’s why we needed a credit card to shop at Netto. And we have badly regressed to the point of becoming a Championship side because of it.

It is past tense tho. We no longer need to shop at Netto, but choosing to do so will only continue our regression.

It's not as simple as that Sky Sports narrative. That set us on the path - we failed/missed an opportunity, but other clubs spend what we did under Koeman regularly.

The stadium, Russia's war, ownership paralysis and in effect a 4 year transfer embargo has put is in the mess.

The below isn't sustainable - we've got to start spending again.

Wrong wrong and so very wrong.

The last 3 years of so called penny pinching - (clearly a term you have just learnt) - is the result of years of OVERSPENDING.

We are not "penny pinching" through choice ffs!!! 🤣
