Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

I don't know for certain but i'm not sure that would change anything. I think the rules relate to us holding his registration as a player rather than him being registered as available in the PL.

If we unregister him from the squad then he isn’t registered as a player and therefore we can register another loan player.

It would have been a very soft penalty, not as much in it as it looked like, Dom’s was more of a penalty for me.
The relative 'softness' is cancelled out by other factors, besides there was clearly enough force to alter his mvt towards and timing with the ball, there can be no doubt there was sufficient force.
Factors include
- he was already in the air, so was unable to counter any force applied, cancelling the idea he was being soft
- two hands in the back is akin to a blatant trip in this circumstance
- the only way to counter Lindstrom movement once he jumped for the ball - that is he jumped uncontested - was to come from behind and illegally push or knock him. The defender wasn't in a position to jump with and shoulder-hip him

No, holding his registration as a player and him being registered in our PL squad are two different things, that is for definite. What i'm not entirely sure on is whether the rules relate to holding his registration or registering him in the PL list, my instinct is that it's holding his registration but I don't know that for sure.

Are there some arguing a push in the back of someone about to head the ball isn't a penalty?

Other than idiot referees obviously

Need a quick player in the attack to make the defence step off by a few yards. Ndiaye and co will get a lot more space if there’s a flyer in the starting 11, without it the opposition defence can push up as close as they like

Can probably count on one hand the amount of players with pace Everton have had since the 80's. For some reason we just don't do pace, which for me is a large part of why we never compete for anything.
