Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Please provide a source.

I can't find anything official but to me, even if he's not registered in our playing squad he is still an employee on our books and still takes up a loan slot. It's a rule against the business side of a club, not on the submitted squad list of a club. He's still loaned to us whether we plan to use him or not.

Happy to be proven otherwise but never seen it before and can't see it being allowed.

Well there would - the fact that they would have to start paying his wages again! Why would you want to say no worries we'll pay him when somebody else has already legally agreed to do it for you?
My point being if we were going to unregister (regardless of whether that can be done) then we’d be paying them to not pay for the club. In that situation we could simply agree to compensate the parent club to the same amount to take them back, it would be all the same to us. They’d have no reason to say no because we’d be covering the wages.

Ah sorry I get you, yes I agree.

I always thought if the loaned player was injured, then he returned to his parent club for treatment, sure that happened with one of our young players that had been loaned out, he was sent back after injury, can't remember who it was but it was recent.
Tyler Onyango was recalled from Stockport County following injury. It may be a formality, but I think the parent club needs to recall the player, and is inclined to do so to oversee rehabilitation, not because they’re required to do so.

Signing Chilwell would be completely daft. The best ability is availability, and we need players who are going to be available for selection every week.
Remember seeing an interview with Sir Alex Ferguson and Ally McCoist this summer and he said the most important thing about any signing is making sure first and foremost that they're available (i.e not a crock like Chillwell, Broja etc.)

Do we need to waste even more for some tax right off or something. We waste so much money on dross, really hope there’s nothing in this.
It would be lovely to sign a proven player for once.

How are we going to sign a proven player when we're still being limited by psr and we need to sign 3-4 players minimum.

If we go looking for 'proven' this month our options are going to be players like Willian.

Fans complaining about how Nuamah would be a terrible signing i dont really understand tbh. He's a young right sided forward with pace and dribbling - That will do for me. Might not be the finished article or a 'proven' player, but other PL teams being after him suggests to me that he's an upgrade on what we have.
